Lol. Another thing many of these guys don't know is tax. Once you earn above 50000 pounds, your tax rate will be 40% of your revenue.
So no matter how much you work, the government still benefits. This also includes self-employment.
Most of these people thought this is Nigeria where they do not pay any tax. They also dont know that the average salary in the UK in 2022 is £29,600 per year. After tax and national insurance you will be left with £23,768. This means that after tax you will take home £1,981 every month. When you consider rent, car, utility bills, council tax, wife and children, family obligations, you might have no savings.
Most white people survive on credit with their credit card. All what you see they buy is on credit and it is not theirs. All these iphones, car, mortgaged house, TV, apple laptop and many more are on credit. Once you default, the real owner will collect everything from you. Why do you think there are many homeless people running about in the west? Why do you think the highest suicide rate is in the west?
Make informed decision before you come to the UK. No one is discouraging you but be aware so you wont regret.
From the way you explained it, it is still ok for an average Nigerian with nothing to boast of, if a Nigerian can find somewhere to live on credit, they will make exploits from nothing... 3 Likes |

I don't know if this Comrade dey take bear. I owe you many chilled ones sir. DMainMan: @justwise.
The below is just to tell prospective students about an easy job they can do in the UK. I have noticed that many Nigerian and Indian students PSW visa are been rejected at alarming rate due to exceeding 20hrs of work. Some of these students have no choice than to work above 20hrs because they will immediately be sacked. Some of them solely depend on this income as they borrowed to come. If you work in warehouse jobs, security jobs, kitchen porter jobs e.t.c, you will be given shifts more than 20hrs a week. So everyone, endeavour you have money before coming to the UK so you won't default.
SOLUTION
To resolve this problem, apply to a stay-at-home call centre job. The job is only about 4hrs daily from Monday to Friday, 5pm to 9pm. This is exactly 20hrs. It is very easy as you will just be answering calls. You will have time to focus on your assignment. The job is also a professional job that can be transferred and added to your CV unlike those aforementioned jobs. You should have quiet space to work at home with a strong WIFI connection. Many other telecommunication companies have these opportunities.

Do not work more than 20hrs a week term time as a student. There is no excuse as your PSW visa will be declined

You have been on many threads ranting! I must say you talk too much for a MAN. Telling people what to do… Honestly you really need to rest uncle. Same way you created a thread 2021 Jan telling people that they are wasting fortunes. People would rather take their chances in a sane society. Keep your energy for something else and allow us breath. You are not in any position to tell people what to do. From your conversation you feel you know what’s the best for another person and it’s really disgusting. If it’s your decision not to travel then it’s fine but coercing others into taking same decision is really annoying and yet people keep correcting you but you are still not getting the point. Rest in Jesus name and get something else to do with your time Please my people if you wish or have the chance to leave the country and you have resources please do. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Are you in Lagos? Hi comrades Quick question: My passport expires in February 2023 so, I would like to know if I can go ahead and renew it since I’m looking to be in the UK come September or maybe I should wait until I get to the UK before renewing. Kindly advice. Thanks |

Deep stuff. unknownknowguy: Lower expectation lower exceptions agreed. .
BUT! The highest disappointment in what you see is still a way better feeling than the hopelessness that resides 24/7 in Nigeria. some of you perhaps had high expectations when you first arrived and are now talking from 'experience' and you still remain in the system. If its that bad then perhaps you should find your way back. If you can make it happen for yourself even when you did not fully plan like you are advising, then another person can truly make it to a better life and system.
You even forget those who made the journey back home to build Nigeria and though they could make something for themselves with uk knowledge that they acquired. Those same people are finding their way out of Nigeria, these are people who have tasted 2 sides of the pot and can tell exactly which is better for them and their loved ones.
Nobody exactly knows what's on the other side and there is no harm in trying, you only find out when you take that step, whether good or bad, sheet happens for a reason.
Do not be be discouraged! If you can Japa, please get the hell out of Naija. Ire o |

Nevertheless, if your passport expiring date frame isn't sufficient, the school will reach out before giving you CAS. Thanks. 3 Likes |

Babababy: We all would eventually walk the part that we have chosen, there is absolutely no bed of roses anywhere in the world and you have to make the most of whatever circumstance you find yourself in. I have 3 kids, I was paying an average of N1.1M per term for school in Nigeria, for all three kids, and this to some is a lot while to others its small fires, to each his/her own. When I inspected schools in the Uk, and compared public schools in the UK to the private school I was paying for, the difference in facilities and tutoring was quite glaring. In the business term, thats a saving of N1.1M for me. Would I be bothered if I get taxed extra because my kids now go to a better school? Hell NO. All three are in public schools in the UK now, something I cant try here in Nigeria.
My last, never loved school, all of a sudden he is always eager to go to school now, my daughter is excelling in maths, a subject her teacher always complained about in Nigeria. My son started football lessons, and he absolutely loves it, swimming is also done in-between.
Obviously, the UK is not a bed of glittering roses, you would have to trade money for quality living, work your ass off to make ends met, but the beneficiary of all the hustle would be your children.
A lot of money is involved in getting settled in the UK, for some its their entire life savings, and for some its just a tiny bit of savings, while some would end up borrowing for the same venture. They usually say, the end should justify the means, but you need to work smart and work hard. You would be amazed by how much you would save with the right information. Hear say wont get you far, regardless of the situation, people would always have differences in their thought process.
The quality of life in Nigeria has been degraded by a lot, even in wealth, your average life expectancy in Nigeria is not guaranteed at 50. Some few weeks ago, millionaires and billionaires were groaning because of the non availability of diesel, it affected everyone. Billioniares literally have to drive in long convoy's and bullet proof cars to avoid stories that touch, their close family have to do same . The list is endless, the UK is an opportunity to try another way of life and compromise on a few things here in Nigeria.
The reality is that, not everyone would be succesful, but it is worth the try. Absolutely better than doing nothing. Here in Nigeria, you still have to hustle, and work smart, so why not the Uk.
What is being told, is so you prepare yourself for the unexpected, the internet should be your best buddy if you intend to relocate, every single resource is in there. My dad left the UK in 1975, he was always getting sick because of the cold. He worked for the department of education , and I shit you not, he is still getting his pension. Obviously its paltry, but would you believe a system paying pension to someone that left the system 47 years ago? This is why some are craving it.
We can argue all we want but we cant compare both systems, yes, you get taxed a lot but your quality of life is greatly improved, and you would obviously see the reasons why you paying the tax.
This place was started to help people have a clear view of how to go about studying in the Uk and remaining in the Uk, we can make inputs on what people should prepare themselves for, lots of inputs. Let the focus of the thread remain about studying in the Uk.

Hello, It depends on the program you are in and the one you want to apply to. Most schools and UKVI will like to see progression. The question is what program are you on and what program are you looking at applying for? Masters to PhD, Yes you can apply within the UK. Masters to another Masters, you have to convince and show progression. Cheers Jenniangel: Please is it possible to apply for another course at the end of my initial program in the UK without having to come back home?
