If you are DIY crew, go through SERVICOM. They will assist you to arrange your files and also submit it for you by themselves. After capturing still take the file back to SERVICOM to help complete the process.

Hello everyone,

I've gone through a good number of pages here and i find that in terms of processing speed in Lagos, it seems Festac and Alausa a little bit faster than ikoyi. Please correct me if im wrong.

I would like to renew my passport in the shortest time possible (max one month), from what i've read so far it seems DIY could take a little bit more than a more or less if lucky and in a way im willing to just try it and save cost on doing express but i am not sure whether to go to the Alausa or Festac center.

Can anyone please advise on this, especially if you just did a passport recently (whether DIY or not), I would really appreciate.

For me Alausa was where I used and got mine exactly within the collection date I was given, might be luck but i think its faster sha

Walk Straight to Servicom/Help Desk when you enter NIS office. they will assist you till the end.

First of all, which document contains the real date of your birth? NIN or Passport?

Based on similar experience, the info on your NIN must tally with the info on your passport. I had a similar issue but mine was about name arrangement. I had to swear affidavit and do some other things after I had visited NIMC office.

If the wrong date is the one on the NIN slip then that’s easier to tackle, just visit any NIMC close to you and tell you want to change your date of birth on your NIN to the correct one and they will tell you all the requirements. But if the NIN contains the right date and the passport has the wrong date I don’t know how to go about that you might want to contact the NIS or ask any immigration officer how you will go about it .

Change of date of birth is 15K.

Go with your birth Certificate and/or a court affidavit to NIN office.
I would advise you pay via remita.

No problem, anytime
Based on change of date of birth I think you might have to write a letter (handwritten) to address the issue (stating the wrong one and the new one you want to use) I don’t know if you would need affidavit also but kindly visit any NIMC office close to you to find out what you will need to effect the change.

I have serious issue with my passport ight now and I am confused on how to go about it.

Firstly, sometime end of 2019, I applied for Canada Tourist visa through an agent. Did capturing at the VFS in Lagos alongside passport submission. At the end of the day, I was given a collection slip. I went back to base. After some weeks a notice from the embassy came into my mail telling me that my application was fraudulent, so the agent suggested we cancel the process which I agreed. I waybilled the passport collection slip which was given to me at the VFS to my agent.

Since then, haven't laid hands on my passport. Now, I want to renew and also make a change of data (DoB) as my passport has expired one year ago.

I am putting this here, for the house to give me the best and effective advice on how to go about this in order to save cost and also time.

Again, if I can get a reliable insider from NIS especially in Lagos cos I'm in Lagos currently, I will so much appreciate it.

Those officers at NIMC office at Ughelli North LG Council frustrated me today. Imagine telling me they can't capture NIN for my three year old son and two months old baby. That they are too small (just imagine). I told them we needed NIN to process their international passports yet these people didn't bulge. Oya, change my NIN too na, they said their machine is bad


Anyways, I will be travelling to Asaba next week so I do all at their office over there. I pray they won't say the same rubbish.

I just wasted my time and money today
