Mind reader well done. They actually prepared for it same way Lithuania prepared for it which made them totally disconnect from Russian gas and are now supplying 2 other Baltic states LNG which also made those 2 to also disconnect from Russian gas.

Lithuanias preparation took 8yrs and now they are free from Russian gas.

The presence of Lithuania around Poland and the Norwegian gas pipeline project which would start supply in October would make the disconnect from Russian gas by Poland a whole lot faster.

Several eastern nation's are just waiting to replace Russia ASAP! Moreso, the WTO is already encouraging free trade amongst nations for the time being. If you've been following the news you'll know Poland is not planning to renew its gas contract which expires at the end of this year with Russia.
A pipeline with Lithuania will open on Monday and another with Sweden or Norway, I can't recall which country now, will open by October.
