Students are requested to go and make research ,write notes from the Internet . Parents Buy Android phones , Subscribe for them for Academics Purposes ,But some Visit Porn sites ,Chats with birds of the same Feathers to share Nonsense.

To the Gurus in the Tech Field. Just asking as a Layman .. Can't Firewall Softwares Be Built so Parents can install it Secretly to Prevent Teens visiting those Sites .

I remember in those days ,When you Visit a cyber cafe ,Porn sites are Restricted on there Computers .

Majority of porn site have it but most parents don't know how to operate it and even if they do most of this children are technologically smarter and will bypass it, away from porn site

In our days of little to no internet, there are boys and girls (I can't exempt myself) who will buy porn CDs and watch it at home when there parent ain't around, it happens alot

For most it is the peer pressure

The society we have support and hail boys that chase and 'catch' girls, this gives boys extra motivation to pursue girls so as to feel among/belong and for the girls, that's a new case altogether

Imagine a 16-year-old girl being toasted by 8 to 10 boys/men at the same time, both her mate and the oldies, it's only a matter of time before the attention, compliments and sweet words finally get to her

The day I saw the Facebook inbox of my cousin that's the day I realized the battle is already lost, even as a guy if daughters of jezebel gather and pursue me in that qualities and quantities I'll surely fall

Some have been in her dm for almost 2 years yet they ain't relenting, while more and more are joining by the weeks, ordinary posting of normal pictures is a problem of attracting bees of toasters

This is a game where the game only ends when you lose like snake enzia game of old, you can't fight them all you will surely emotionally fall for one either online or offline just hope you don't fall for the stupid one

This is not a battle your parents can fight for you, teachers and religious leaders are out of the equation; how many boys/men do you want to report to them

God help you your parents is an aggressive type that will confront a school mate because he toast you, just know you are finished in that school among your peers

Even experienced married women are falling for this unrelenting smooth talking demonic toasters talkless of inexperienced young girls

A parent can only do their part and hope for the best but prepare for the worst, if shit happens never run to the internet like the chrisland girl's mother, don't allow your children to fool you, be open minded that they could be a saint, the opposite or anywhere in-between, never completely trust any of your kids and never completely throw them under the bus when their eer

Those one you think are saints are most time just able to hide theirs not that they're better than those we crucify

It can be done. But you also have to do your part as a parent. If you only lock your wifi from accessing 18+ sites, they might use telegram. So you just have to be vigilant and commit them to God lol.

This days the external influences outweighs the internal one.

Believe me, these children that were born using computers will break and breach all of those. They are more versed than you. I once say a child bypass his father's phone lock by going to Camera (which can be opened on most Android phones without unlocking the phone).

A firewall is a reactive response. What if the child sets up a VPN to tunnel their traffic?

You can sir and there're lot of solutions out there. There are children friendly devices and software that can serve such. You would also need to learn how to use some of them. Most importantly take time to instruct your kids and guide them.

Android portable devices are naturally not for kids but if you must buy one for them, kindly follow this steps to safeguard their usage.

1. When registering Gmail for them, use their correct age and bind your own Gmail as parent.

2. Proceed to install Google Family Link on your own phone.

3. Add their registered Gmail to your Google Family Link.

4. Do Factory Reset on their Android device if they already have one, then login the device with their own Gmail account that you've linked to your Google Family Link.

5. If you've just purchased a new device, be sure to use their email linked to your Google Family Link to activate or configure the device.

6. Once steps 4 and 5 above the phone will get a notification to allow them activate the device.

7. This is the beginning of taking control and charge of their devices anywhere.

8. I can tell you that all adult contents of any form will never load on their phones.

9. They will not also be able to install anything without your approval remotely from the Google Family Link.

10. You will also be able to lock their devices from anywhere you may be at anytime.

11. You will also be able to set a Start and Stop time for their usage of the devices and the phone will lock once it gets to that time even if you forget the set time.

13. Note that YouTube will not allow them see or have access to adult contents too.

14. You can also alternatively use YKids (YouTube for Kids). I recommend you remove the normal YouTube and install YKids doe them.

15. You can also monitor how long they've stayed on each App or page (browser) to caution or warn them where necessary using the Google Family Link.

I'm not saying the measures you have outlined aren't excellent advice. They are and kudos on sharing. My worry is that the Android platform is very open and can be easily circumvented. Compare and contrast this with an ios device where, if you like flash a new ios it will still require you to login using the original account used on the phone. Not saying anyone should go and get an ios device for their child, just pointing out that Android's openness is both a strength and a weakness
