As a computer science grad, put efforts into mastering Programming! It will make you a good living!

Just one question though
If everyone learns a trade what will happen to the service industry?
Will you all export your skills abroad to join...surprise surprise their service industry?
Please not everyone has to be an entrepreneur
I blame ibb for legalising corruption and making it a shortcut to sudden wealth
Like another poster said there are jobs out there
Stop waiting for government work and start something
You must not hammer before you hit 30
Simple

I REPEAT NIGERIA IS bleeped!!!!!!!!!!
say it, loud bro. Yesterday, I just decided to go have a drink alone, right there are the bar, I reflected on my life when I was in Nigeria, all I can say is thank you, God. What I earn in a week here is 15times my month salary in Nigeria. It's just that bills dey here sha, all the same we're good.

My advice to Nigerian graduates is to learn a skill, and with time, leave the country for those that spoiled it if you can.

Develop a passion for nursing
Get yourself into a nursing school. In 3 years you are done. Write and pass IELTS and you are in hot demand abroad.
Travel out as a nurse... Register and start working, then you are a king for life...

Then, the 3-year investment or sacrifice to your future is worth it.

A nurse abroad is a king.... Just 3 years sacrifice in the school of nursing + passing IELTS.... That's all

What is special about being a graduate? Does being a graduate make you different from the average human hustling to make ends meet?

Nigerian graduates need to drop this useless entitlement mentality. You're not different from the plumber, barber, construction worker, shoemaker, market woman, fashion designers, etc.

Go and fûcking hustle. You're not entitled to nothing you didn't hustle for.

I'm doing very well as an employee and as a freelance writer...

However, I always wish I had learnt soft skills while in school, and started hustling then.

No regrets Sha... Still, I will counsel every undergraduate not to waste his youth trying solely to get a degree or degrees! The jobs are quite few and seriously in competition!

Thank God for the internet, you can start off your career online!

Happy Sunday boss, I just want to start freelance writing, what advice do you have for me? I am not sure I am very good with writing, but I know people do contract it out to writers and share the profit

Which kind of handwork should one learn
?
Stevenson20:
Any graduate that thinks that after graduation, he or she will work in a big or well paying firm or organization is daydreaming, unless you have the Connection
Na so most of us think am that year. When reality hits you, you'll start thinking with your brain instead of your anus. Even if you get, before month ends, you've already eaten almost your salary and even borrow money from your neighbors.

My advice is simple: Go and learn handwork or trade

Happy Sunday great one.

Writing is a passion and a gift which I have honed in the space of decades! So, I do it effortlessly and now profitably.

You don't have to do writing as a freelancer. There are many other profitable things you can do depending on your abilities and career direction.

Yes, you can get the gigs and contract them out, but how sure are you the person given the contract will deliver?!! You are better off doing freelance career in something you love.

Learn a Skill

Be Smart

Believe in yourself (One man Mopol)

Learn how to drive

Know something about everything

Always be positive

Read..Read..Read everything you find worthy

Always try your luck in everything worthwhile ( scholarships, grants, etc)

Lastly, don't be greedy else, you will loose everything.

Finally, there is grace and there is God factor. Ensure you pray.

Leave this country if you have the means.

If you don't, learn a transferable skill, there are so many free resources available online. What do I mean by transferable skill? It's a skill that'd still be very relevant outside the shores of Nigeria.

Once you save enough from the skill, leave this country. Your money won't/can't save you.

Trust me, a well paying job won't rescue you from the ruins in this country. Irrespective of who comes into power next year, it will take a miracle for the situation to get better.

It will get to a point people will pray Buhari remained in power, the same way we wished GEJ won. A word is enough for the wise.
