My friend is in a dilemma.
He's been dating a girl for over 3 years now and she has decided to travel abroad for her master's. He's footing about 70% of the bills so they decided to do a court marriage last month so they can move together and start visa application by July as she's already gotten admission.
Now the issue is someone advised them that their marriage date is too close to the visa application date and that it might raise red flags as the marriage might be viewed as a sham marriage (even though it isn't).
They were advised to defer the admission and not apply now. Now he's scared of applying as he doesn't want to risk a rejection.
Please what's your advice and does he really stand a huge risk of rejection?

Please, I have issue with my ATAS certificate application which I need your candid opinion and advice.
Firstly, I got a mail from atas@fcdo.gov.uk few days after I had submitted my application which I was asked to login that there are fields that need changing. The highlighted field was on "What will you be studying" under Proposed Study section. Here we are required to list out the elective modules of the course or the core modules if there is no elective module. I had listed the core modules and some of its components I got from the school website since there is no elective module for my course. So I was wondering what could be the issue when I got the mail. I immediately edited what I filled initially by listing just only the core modules available to my course in the school website and resubmitted the application.

Just when I was expecting the ATAS certificate after 21days of the application, I got another mail still on "What will you be studying". This time the statement reads:
"Please provide research statement for this course given by the university. If you have not received a research statement please contact your university's admission team".

Please, am I supposed to be given a research statement for a one year taught masters course? I got an offer for a taught masters not research masters and there is nothing like research statement on my Offer Letter. I am 100% sure that I selected taught student when completed the ATAS application form. I think there is a mix up somewhere. Please what should I do now though I have written them stating clearly that I will be studying a taught masters which I was not given research statement. Am bothered because I takes about 15 working days for them to respond to mails concerning the fact that my POF is in progress. I need the ATAS certificate alongside my POF to request for CAS by the end of the month. Should I send in another application for ATAS certificate?
Please what should I do to this regard because I desperately need the certificate before my POF mature?

I think it’s because you copied and pasted the modules from the website, the school is supposed to send you a separate letter (aside from your offer letter) on the information required for ATAS. So if you didn’t get that letter, send a message to your school requesting for it. Most schools don’t release this letter until May because that’s when they’re able to confirm the modules for the next start year.
This is my experience, My course of study requires ATAS so all the schools that I applied to that gave me offer sent me the ATAS Clearance letter except 2 schools who said they’ll send this month once the modules have been confirmed.

I have been given go ahead to apply for the ATAS certificate in my offer letter. The CAH3 code for my course and programme leader as my supervisor are all stated on my Offer Letter. I was referred to the school website for the course modules. I didn't copy and paste the course modules, I typed it on the space provided in the application form. The school hasn't said I will be given any ATAS clearance letter prior to when they want to apply for ATAS certificate. There is no such information both in the Offer letter or the school website.
