Mate not just naija, na global thing. Just that most people package abroad for you as if things of that nature doesn't happen here, it does!

I've met a Brit working as a ranger in one of the beaches around whereas she studied English Language and likewise someone working in a pub as a bartender whereas she studied Bus-Admin.

According to you what's the difference between Linguistics and English?

Linguistics is a bit broad and doesn't deal with literature. It deals with stylistics, semantics, discourse analysis, syntax, pragmatic and phonology.

For English, it is divided into language and literature

Also English deals with only English language. For Linguistics, you deal in world languages and how they work. If you are interested in other languages, Linguistics is your best bet. If you want to be proficient in English, go for English
