GreatAdvice: I use to think like you but pesticides riddled food is out there in the market apple peaches and tomatoes are now spray with round down a dangerous pesticides like DDT. meat is a no no for me I'm planning on staying more 60+ years. Most cow are treated with bone lime growth hormone I don't know if my fulani brothers actually give their cow these hormones. Why get my goat is chicken is now been feed with it. Went to a poultry and saw it in a small vile bottle since then I quit eating chicken. Only grass feed chickens I rear and it's occasionally. People have to be careful of what they eat.... I've been like this from day one and if my kind populate the earth chemist and doctors would be out of business. 1 Like |

GreatAdvice: Na so biological shopper Same here,I don’t step foot in d market at all. Why should a man be in d market,it’s a woman’s place..exceptional cases(if wifey put to bed or emergency). The last time I was in d market in 2016,this girl made me shed tears. She never stopped telling me how those women ripped me off about 5k total from each item I bought. A bag of semo I bought was topped with 500,cat fish I bought was ripped with 250,beverages etc I don’t go to d market. there’s this mobile grocery store I order from down to filling of gas. My woman is a busy career woman too Nigeria markets are the easiest places to contact that airborne disease you’ve been avoiding. It’s in some Nigeria markets that fellow buyers will cough directly into ur mouth or someone will sneeze in d air like a goat. |

pocohantas: I hear this all the time but by experience I have come to realize that most people are unaware that they all do sell by weight. I have been to a lot of markets and I have never come across a market that does not sell by weight (atleast within lagos and abuja). You just need to ask them and they would bring the scale out for you, or burrow from a friend nearby. They usually prefer selling by the bargaining method (in order to cheat) but if you insist that you want to use a scale they would bring it out promptly instead of loosing that customer. |

John360comng:Don't know why your comments make me lol Now you want to thread that health path . Don't mind me anyway. More than 80% Nigerian fruits, foodstuffs and veggies are organic. Nigerian farmers are yet to embrace GMO cos of our farming mechanisms and orientations( sometimes I thank religion ) nd of course poverty with nonchalant attitude of our govt. We are still lucky in this part of the world 2 Likes 1 Share |

I always wear my bum shorts and top I hate the idea of my clothes touching the muddy ground or those dirt at the market.if it is oyinbo market I go with rain boots. I don't go with personal car,Lai Lai,I no get strength for those agbero My bagco bag mysteriously get missing every week,I dey suspect my help(lol) so I get to buy new ones. I have a dedicated customers for everything I start calling them before I start going to the market to prepare everything for me,once I am at the market they start bringing it to the salon I frequent in the market.i hardly stress myself. till date I have never had any issues with my market customers. |

pocohantas:Buying meat in north is easy if can't negotiate just buy in kilo has a fixed price and it is only beef without bone or other parts. just make sure it a freshly killed. how I wished everythin can be sold in Kilos or gram like in abroad. you dont call unreasonable price for me and tell to me "uncle u can negotiate", I'll move away from you. |

haggai247: Kudos to you bro. This is the way to go but it's a but too strict for me. I love my meat. Although it will make sense to rear them goats and chickens myself to avoid the ones sold at the market. 1 Like |

sirqeeboi: This is how it should be. I know markets where it is sold in kg, but they are not the standard. Many African mothers wouldn’t even agree with you that the weighing method is better. Lol @ move away. You know some of these markets have a high demand. Na wetin dey worry them, not like they don’t know how things should be done. |

The bargaining part is the hardest shopping experience. Best dress in jeans in case you want to run away from curses Those curses ! I don't have patients and won't follow my mom or sisters to Nigeria market. The yoruba market women are something else |

armyofone: I noticed they are usually impatient, borderline rude and dismissive. Many would just sit, you pick the item yourself, they pass you nylon, you tie it yourself. Unconsciously I am beginning to avoid buying things from them. 1 Like |
