ATIKU SOUTH-WEST TOUR: APPRECIATION TO OUR LEADERS, STAKEHOLDERS, DELEGATES AND MEMBERS


In furtherance to his declaration to contest the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, former Vice President and frontline aspirant, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar concluded a successful tour of the South-West over the weekend.

Amid cheers and chants of solidarity, the former VP received a rousing reception at every point of call. AA, as he is fondly called, was accompanied by a high powered delegation that comprised of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Senator Dino Melaye, Engr. Olajide Adeniji and a host of others. The 6 South-West state Coordinators of Atiku Support Organisation, ASO, also complimented the entourage.

The Cordinators who were all on ground to welcome the next President of Nigeria to the Southwest are Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, Lagos state; Dr. J.O Lasisi, Ogun state; Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, Oyo state; Comrade Babarinde Funmiso, Osun state; Hon. Mrs Hellen David, Ekiti state; Hon. Damilola Adamolekun, Ondo state and my humble self; the South-West Zonal Coordinator of ASO, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Akinsanya.

Special appreciation goes to the leaders, stakeholders and members of the party in the South-West for the immense show of support and outpour of love towards Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's aspiration. Without an iota of doubt, His Excellency was overwhelmed by the kind gesture and subsequently reiterated his promise to include 40% youth and women representation in his cabinet. Also, he expressed his desire to restore a sense of belonging to all marginalized Nigerians.

Furthermore, the contributions of all Atiku Support Groups in the South-West cannot go unrecognized. You are the foundation on which this solid structure is built.

Consequently, I implore our delegates to consolidate on this momentum by ensuring that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerges as the party's flagbearer during the forthcoming primaries. In his words, "you have a historic responsibilityto bail out this country".
