Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Should Have Named After Awolowo by Tinubuadvocate: 12:41pm On May 09, 2022 |
Obasanjo who named international airport after the ceremonial former president must have make a big mistake of course what's the contribution of Nnamdi Azikiwe to our country? Apart from being a nationalist which others leaders from other regions are also a nationalist. The contribution of pa Awolowo to Nigeria supersedes that of Azikiwe. Mention two legacy of Azikiwe. The Obafemi Awolowo Jeremiah As a young man he was an active journalist, editing publications such as the Nigerian worker, on top of others as well. After receiving his bachelors of commerce degree in Nigeria, he traveled to London to pursue his degree in law.Obafemi Awolowo was the first premier of the Western Region and later federal commissioner for finance, and vice chairman of the Federal Executive Council during the Nigerian Civil War.[6] He was thrice a major contender for his country's highest office. A native of Ikenne in Ogun State of south-western Nigeria,[8] he started his career, like some of his well-known contemporaries, as a nationalist in the Nigerian Youth Movement in which he rose to become Western Provincial Secretary. Awolowo was responsible for much of the progressive social legislation that has made Nigeria a modern nation.Awolowo also founded the Yoruba nationalist group Egbe Omo Oduduwa.Awolowo was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance, and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria's parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959.He was the official Leader of the Opposition in the federal parliament to the Balewa government from 1959 to 1963.In 1963 he was imprisoned under the accusations of sedition and was not pardoned by the government until 1966, after which he assumed the role as Minister of Finance. In recognition of all of this, Awolowo was the first individual in the modern era to be named as the leader of the Yorubas (Yoruba: Asiwaju Awon Yoruba or Asiwaju Omo Oodua). 3 Likes |

You guys never get tired of this childish cruise catching? Someone will just sit down in one motor pack drinking agbo while posting hateful things online. It looks to me that some certain people have vowed to troll the beautiful Igbos. No productive post at all, yet you call yourself a southerner. Have you ever seen any northerner posting irrelevant things to incite his/her fellow northerner? You campaign for Tinubu yet to daily post things that are not pleasant to a sane society. I don't think Tinubu support this kind of post. If you guys so much love regional politics, then fight for independence of your region and practice bigotry and nepotism freely. Be a good ambassador of Tinubu's campaign team. 2 Likes |

Since you are an advocate for Tinubu, I will advise you to stick to that. You have insulted Nnamdi Azikiwe and also insulted Obafemi Awolowo whom you’re defending. What do you know about patriotism? 2 Likes 1 Share |

9japride: Don’t get it twisted bro. Most of these monikers posting hateful and inciting stuff online are actually northerners and middle belters (other minority tribesmen) masking under the igbo and yoruba umbrella to create division on nairaland. They are many of them here, I’ve caught many who started off supporting yoruba and later switched to supporting igbos and vice versa but if you check well they are actually ibibio, ijaw, igala etc 2 Likes |

an0daGuy: It's just pathetic. At times I try to understand the rationale behind such acts but it's too meaningless to me. If its really true that minority tribes in the Niger Delta are doing it then it's pity. The northern region will never put their own person down, never. But here down south you find some people who think politics is joking matter. It seems they don't try to compare themselves with other developing countries that have mineral resources like them or is it the middle belt that are consistently being attacked by barbarians that still have the effort to instigate hatred amongst other regions? I don't really get it at all. To me, people who engages in such acts are still in their primitive stages or they live in illusion. |
Re: Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Should Have Named After Awolowo by an0daGuy: 6:02pm On May 09, 2022 |
9japride: We all know Nigeria acts like a nation still in its primitive state. There are over 400 ethnic minorities in Nigeria today, many of them are found in the middle belt and southern regions. Hausa, yoruba and igbo are the giant tribes of Nigeria and many of these other smaller tribes actually feel threatened by the numerical and economical strength that these three big tribes possess in the country today. That’s the reason why they are happy instigating hatred among them without remorse. It’s very logical and I’m sure if you were a part of the minority you’d have no problem joining in the free-for-all too. I don’t blame them. The big 3 tribes share a huge chunk of all the goodies that the nation has to offer. 1 Like |

an0daGuy: You are right. Though I blame the big three tribes for not setting the pace for a conducive environment for rapid development. The foundation is faulty, everyone is just pretending because they are still at dinning table eating oil money. Those minorities should continue with their games, at the end its everyone that will bear the consequences of a failed nation. I better just chill, people don't want to get serious in building a nation or even try to seek independence for their various regions. To me the number of people that have coconut head are much and they are not ready to hear any word of reasoning. It's a just pity. 1 Like |

9japride: That’s the koko my brother. The coconut headed Nigerians are more than the sane headed ones lol But realistically the big 3 tribes have failed woefully in their big brotherly roles to the other minorities in the nation and if eventually there is a fallout of law and order it’s still the same minorities that will feel the heat the most out of all. 1 Like |
