We both finished our NYSC service last year, luckily enough we started a POS business and as God will have it, we are both doing well, we both make a minimum of 5k at least on daily basis.

The main problem is that of recent she is talking about applying for her masters degree, l told her what is the essence of going for masters degree when the degree we obtain has not been any useful to us, why not expand this particular business, be financially stable before you start talking about masters, beside we need to build our self financially well if we have to settle down.

She told me that is her long time ambition and she is not expecting any money from me, she left my house this morning with anger.

Please Nairalanders, did l do anything wrong? What is the best way to handle this issue?

That was why I said FEW FAITHFUL WOMEN. A God fearing woman will never cheat on her man no matter what.....Am not saying I trust all of them but virtuous women are still out there. Only a lucky man can grab his own among the few available ones.

Some years ago, Canadian immigration for Express Entry began in full swing. Amongst other points which I would not bore you with, those with Masters earned higher points than those with degree. PHD had higher points than those with masters. Degree scored had a high score compared to who only had OND and so on. These points amongst others helped people move up in the pool.

We cannot tell the doors that will open for her tomorrow and this same masters will give her leverage. Who knows she may get fully sponsored masters or PhD program abroad tomorrow. You are not her maker and you don't know why God has put the masters degree longing in her heart.

When a man/woman has an inner longing to achieve a goal, please don't stand in their way. Move away and you too find the woman who aligns with you and will equally give you peace.

If you love a person and they are about taking a wrong step wont you call them to order? if her parents is bouyant enough to send her to school that is a different issue, We both dont have parents who are bouyant enough, we saved and plan this business right during our service year, the aim is even if we will be making 1k a day we will be grateful, as God will have it, it turns out better for both of us, in most case we make upto 10k in those shops ,l remember telling her as this money is coming in,save and open another branch,of recent she told me she is interested in going into water business instead of opening another pos store, l encourage her to do it, l have another branch already and the aim is for us to grow and build our life since we have nobody, now my sister, tell me of what use is this masters at this point,, she claim she dont want my money now but when it get tough the blackmail will definitely set in, doing masters now is more of gambling, it assured nothing, when we do the basic, get married and establish a good business and life she herself will enjoy doing her masters.

Nobody is degrading education, you dont leave a bird in your hand chasing monkeys on the trees, all l am saying is expand your source of income first, we already have a bsc, most jobs that comes now she will be qualified for them, so this master should be a later issue not now.

There are people that have applied for scholarships abroad to study for masters degree, UK has 2 years Poststudy work visa on which you can work for two years and migrate to work visa from there. Same with Canada where you can even get your Residence permit after a year. And all these require your first degree certificate.
There are many people on this route already and I am also in the process.

There are so many things you can do with your certificates.

No be every woman dey pressure herself to be a housewife especially when they've not fulfilled some of their dreams. You have a woman who wants to expand her horizon and you're trying to block her blessings with your insecurity.
