Good morning. Thanks to everyone answering questions.

And hope I don't need evidence of proficiency in English because I never saw it anywhere when I was applying.

Please for my biometric capturing at TLS, do I need to come with the originals of all the documents that I uploaded? I'm applying for a spouse visa.

The photos I uploaded, do I still need to go there with them. Thank you

You only need your passport, photocopy of the database side of your passport and the tick documents letter to go with to TLS. Since you have uploaded all your supporting documents they wouldn’t need that from you at TLS.

Just make sure having the English IETLS or whatever it’s called isn’t on the list of your requirements.

Thank you very much. I didn't see any test of English while applying. I guess it is not a requirement for a spouse visa.
Thank you.

Not sure how that happened but my spouse definitely was asked for it. Our first appt was turned down due to this. But she doesn’t have a university degree though. Because if you have then it would not be a requirement.

IELTS was not mentioned anywhere in my application process. And it is not in the checklist. Could it be that there are different types of spousal visas?

Yes it could be different, ours is settlement/spouse visa. We ended up paying £3700 in dollars.

Hmmm! test of English is very compulsory otherwise your application will be refused. i will advice you to quickly register for IELTS test, it is very simple. make sure u do the one for B1, it takes u to applying for indefinite and citizen. If you do A1 it last only for 2.5 years, u will still pay and renew another one here in the uk if you are applying for further leave to remain. All the best

Test of English requirement is one of the primary requirement for spouse visa, they need to be sure you have knowledge of English.

I paid about £260 pounds. Mine is not settlement. My wife is a healthcare worker.

Dear Vikaosi,
Finally I see someone that speaks same "language" with me..lolz

I've read some posts and I've been confused.. Cost was just $317, as the only fee, unlike the over $3,000 I've been seeing here for Spouse Visa.
Really seem there are different versions of Spouse or Partner Visa. And I also remembered that when my wife and I were applying for it, we changed application 3 times. The first two links were strange and has so many questions and requirements, including the English results or degree and many other things someone has listed earlier here.
But she was like, it can't be those, and later got the link we finally used from a colleague.

And decision was concluded within 3weeks. (Applied on March 29th, went for biometrics on April 5 at Abuja VAC, and got mail that Visa was ready for collection on April 27)

Collected my Visa just this afternoon, and by God's grace, it's approved.

So, it actually seems there are different versions of Spouse/partner Visa, for different reasons or benefits I believe

I also pray that those still awaiting decision would receive theirs soonest...with favourable decision.
Cheers all

EDITED: And no, we didn't upload any single picture nor chats nor any form of receipts or bills

I thought as much. With Maintenance ticked on the COS of your spouse, some of the requirements are waived. From your papers you pasted, we applied for the same type of visa. I paid $322.

Please what documents were requested from you at the biometric centre

Congratulations.

Congratulations.

You're right...

Go with your passport,of course. Then very importantly too, the TLScontact appointment email... Then the printout Checklist. If you paid for added value service, you'll need to print out that TLScontact receipt. Then, a copy of your passport data page (I did mine coloured).

I believe you uploaded the required documents when you were applying. Otherwise, you'll need to physically go with them and have them uploaded there ...

Thanks

Hi guys,

Who has recently gotten their TB test done, could you please share the exert amount you paid in Naira?

Some said 57,800 another said 64,200. I am so unsure due to the unstable USD rate in Nigeria. Kindly share exert amount if you have recently paid for this test.

Thank you.

Good morning everyone. Pls, for the spouse visa, do I need to upload any picture of myself with my partner? Please, apart from the above stated documents, what other documents do I need to upload before my biometrics.

I would say pay the lower amount. They would accept your payments slip and you would still do your test. My wife paid 4k more than what she was meant to pay. She paid 58k in Oct 2021 when she did hers. And when she got there the next day they told her it was 54k. She couldn’t get the 4k back lol.

To be honest I really don’t know grin, they have the Ukraine thing as an excuse now. But we are still checking every other day to see if they have sorted it out. You pay almost £4000 to wait for like 4-6 months lol, it’s a joke to be honest.

I don't really understand this issues of Ukraine excuse on this matter. At least they should have stop all the Visa process and face Ukraine problem by just collecting application and hanging people's mind on a life wire. Given people BP everyday. Hmmmmm May God help us.

Yep they sent this to my wife on Tuesday grin she is going crazy right now. So another 2 and half months to wait for us. But as seen on here everyone have different spouse application, our one is settlement/marriage visa because I was born here etc And I have seen others who have applied (I think via healthcare workers) and pay a lot less than what we had to pay (Even though I work for the NHS too).

This wait is going to be long and exhausting. Regarding the other visa you were referring to, I think theirs is dependent visa while ours is spouse settlement visa, It isn’t the same.

Thanks for clarifying that, because my wife had a mate that paid under £400 on the same day that she went to do her biometrics. And that Lady got her visa within 3 weeks and she is now with her husband in the UK. They were comparing notes and were confused with the spouse visa different prices. I did explain to her that their might be “Dependent visa” rather than settlement.

I would keep on updating you to let you know how far we have got to. Our biometrics was done on the 28th of January at Ikeja, so we looking at the end of July for this to come out. She had to re-rent her place today as we speak for another 6 months.

So it’s just patience really.

I swear my BP has gone through the roof over the last 5 weeks, but we have both come to accept that it’s just patience that’s needed, and to get all the things that needs doing now before she arrives, she is trying to learn hair making, get her drivers licence, do the UK theory test driving lessons online etc. So that it’s easier for her to start her new life once she is here.

Please keep me updated, the anxiety I feel from waiting is too much, I keep refreshing my email every minute, I read somewhere that all applications made this year has been packed aside for the home office to fully concentrate on the Ukraine crisis, that’s why no spouse settlement applicant from January till date has come back to drop a feedback.

We have been doing the same thing, refreshing the tracker, emails etc my wife is beside herself. I really feel for her. I would definitely update people on here.

The Ukraine excuse is quite poor, they are still issuing work, tourist, visiting visas. But they expect people who pay over the odds to be split away from their love ones.

I have already made my complaints to the home office, they usually get back within 20 working days in regards to the complaint.

I’m not very sure but I think other non-settlement visas are being processed in the country where the applicant resides, that’s why Ukraine crisis doesn’t affect them.
