For the POF, which is better - to use a dom account ($) or a dom account (£)

My uncle in the US will be sponsoring my UK education. He recommends I open a Dom account (£) because pounds as the official currency of UK is higher than dollar and also because of exchange rate volatility . But I have been to the bank and they said only offer card (dollar card) for Dom ($) account.

Pls I want to know which is better

So, this right here, is the truth.
I am privy to some of these embassy confirmations due to the nature of my work.
Embassies/UKVI or Canadian authorities usually conduct verifications in the normal course of visa processing. they may dig further when something appears to be "off" about an application. Sometimes, they go as far as requesting to know the balances in the account, probably, because the visa officer believes the applicant has an hidden intention they cannot verify looking at the papers submitted. Then, they may request for more and if the bank declines to provide more information, they may issue the applicant a refusal and request him to go through the AR route to prove what they could not establish during their verification. Basically, pushing the burden of proof to the applicant.

Summary: Embassies verify statements. In some cases, they request for account balances. This is why some people will advise that you leave the money in the account until your visa is issued.

I don’t know what their policy is but using a pension savings account is allowed that’s what is written on Uk gov website.

My oh my... This is more than cheap... Happy for you. Mine is still same story. This is 3 weeks and 1 day now. I pray they debit me with same rate as yours....

That’s why you’re to upload your offer letter and school invoice. Both should have your student ID number. The bank would take the number from the documents.

Yes Banks don't disclose account balance to third parties o,i know of a man who got a call from his bank when UKVI called in and wanting to know the account balance,the account officer had to call him and make the call a conference call and the conversation was recorded,but i don't know how that works with Students Visa

Guys what just wise is saying is the truth attached is a mail from UKVI trying to verify an applicant POF ..but they mistakenly sent it to the the applicant instead of the bank.... Justwise forgive me for posting this here but just to silent some people regards this issue..

Yes bank bank does disclose bank balance to the embassy, the embassy is not ordinary 3rd party and the applicant willingly give the embassy the right to verify the statement, so you are wrong.

Really confused ...Isn’t the POF maintenance fees part of whats to be use for rent too..cause my agent kept tellin me I need to add extra 9m to the POF am submitting for family of 5 ... London campus.never heard of it on here.. pls help me out

1. The visitors visa refusal was October 2021
2. The POF for the student visa was a separate account entirely. The reason why GTBank statement was included is to clarify the refusal reasons highlighted hence showing payment receipts of other source of income as requested.
