You would have practised on VMWare so to have enough hands on experience that you can talk about which in essence is an in-house field experience, so still on to a potential win-win situation.

Hands on experience, means knowledge or skill you acquired from doing stuff yourself and/or creating the magic yourself ,as opposed to just reading about it, seeing it being done or ordinarily being certified. The certification just breaks the ice, tears down barriers that probably would have blocked you getting to the interview door

Is VmWare easy to learn? Did a training on it in 2015 but it was not comprehensive enough so I abandoned it

Do you have resources I can use?

Last time I used VMWare was circa 2014
Didnt even have training on it before configuring the set up, put on and hosting virtual machines on it.
I dont want to believe it has a steep learning curve, so yes, VmWare is easy to learn.

Have a look at about clip.
You've now awakened my VMWare bug, loll

Congratulations to them, na this kind advert dey deceive people and they are still where they are. Even you yourself know the truth. Like I said before folks can believe whatever they want. Cloud technology some years back was still relatively new and folks could get their way in easily but nowadays with everyone brandishing certificates everywhere how many are truly getting their way in now. Am also in a tech community of cloud folks and suddenly folks started advising themselves to stop using past questions to prepare for cert exam but rather get hands on to even sit for exams. Folks are beginning to know that just getting the certificate is not enough. You guys can keep advertising and let people decide whatever way they want. The results will always there as a justification later. Let's look at the data and prove so if many folks are really getting jobs just with certs

Yeah know the truth that having certifications gives you half a chance of opening doors for interview selection
Didnt the so call folks get their way in easily without necessarily having field experience. Hmm?

Smh, getting positions like product owner, product manager and scrum master or junior entry level, being certified by the relevant professional body(ies) is a game changer, meaning it opens doors, gives you a chance to slide your foot in, to then pitch and sell yourself

You and your friend are blindsided to the fact that, certifications is one of the things the applicant tracking systems (ATS) bot will be looking out for, and if found absent on CVs, it means, the CV goes straight into the dustbin, and the effect of that, is the CV will have no prospect of get selected for an interview appointment, leaving the CV owner, drop off even before getting to jump over the first hurdle.

No one falsifies CVs, you list your experience and then give an articulate account of however way you obtained the experience.

With all due respect, the emboldened is completely and utterly wrong, certificates will open doors, then its left to you to pitch and convince you're capable of doing the job applied for.

1. Appropriate and suitably drafted CV (i.e. curriculum vitae) or Resume e.g. make sure its applicant tracking systems (ATS) friendly
2. Recruitment Agencies, allows you to get a foot in the door, also serve as opportunities to get interviews, from which you can learn from
3. Certification(s) even foundational entry certification(s) are game changers
4. Networking, meaning, mingle and interact with others with similar professional interest, to exchange information and for developing your professional or social contacts

Argument is about trading of ignorances, I dont do arguments, as I have no ignorance to exchange for other people's ignorances traded here.

It is a fact that people do get jobs with certification, as opposed to saying, flat out that certifications won't get anyone jobs. That is not just only an irresponsible remark to make but it's also not correct

Our problem as Nigerians is that we want short cuts and we don't tell people the entire truth. Lots of people have spent thousands of pounds on certifications and got no where. That it happened to some few does validate that truth. Time had proven again and again especially it the IT sector that project experience and working with people over time to negotiate conflicts and requirements is a winner in the job market any day any time. There is a reason why its github profile that gets software developers jobs and not paper work. I only wanted people out there not to be carried away with all these successful stories of not getting experience and getting jobs. And most times there were other factors that some of these successful people don't say. There are also some transfered skills from one sector to another which can also be a factor. It's left for anyone to belive whatever they want but think of the resources people spent to come to the uk and still be struggling for years just because of one data proven factor that they ignore. Am done

None of these gives you a licence to say that certifications would not get you jobs, because that is a big fat lie.

Goke7:
All through the banter I never threw any insult.
You were being playful and friendly when making your teasing remarks when you typed 'Don't deceive people here'. Right?
Is it also banter when you made allegations saying: 'you are the kind of people misleading people by selling all sorts of fast track courses and lying to them that they will get job in weeks after getting certified'? Erhn?

What of when you typed: 'You must sell this training course sha grin by force by fire'? Hmm?

This too you typed: 'The guy knows what he's doing. They are the ones confusing people so folks can patronise them for training. Na business things, na the people wey go fall for their scheme I just pity. I was almost a victim until a friend opened my eyes'

I recall you even suggested I was advertising. Smh. Was that banter too? If all these arent insults laced with slanders, I dont know what else to describe them all as.

No one has insulted you. Calling out observation of significant details about someone is not insults.

Goke7:
Let's learn to choose words carefully when people don't agree with us. Those words of truculent or whatever and half empty were not necessary
Truculent means you are being argumentative and doing so unjustifiably, while 'cup half empty', metaphorically is pointing to your oddly pessimistic attitude of certifications.
