Guyman02: Please stop with the lies! Do people round trip? yes but Dangote has no reason to round trip. And he didn't make his money by round tripping. Your hate for him won't get you anywhere. His fertiliser company has started operations and already exporting to Brazil and other foreign countries. Infact he has to cut down on foreign exports to meet local demand. Not withstanding, that export is where the big money is. And the crisis in Europe is also an opportunity in this regard. His fortunes will triple , once the refinery starts operations. I guess you will also say he is investing over 20 billion dollars in the refinery just to round trip too. Myopic thinking at its peak! |

Nyne:.. Nobody is stopping you from investing. There are people both local and foreign that are investing and reaping the benefits. The opportunities are there for all to see from manufacturing to agric, banking IT, tech services even religious activities. Hate won't get you any where |

toujurs:Some of you just write things without verification. Dangote has complained about challenges with doing business in Nigeria several times if you listened to his interviews. Infact these challenges are the reasons he had to spend almost double the price of the initial estimates for the refinery. He had to build his own deep port to import certain equipments and of course they then had to construct several roads with a reduction in their taxes. As for his previous businesses folding up, that is part of the game, you fail in some businesses and learn from your experiences. As for cement, you are wrong to say there is no competition. There is Lafrage, BUA, Ibeto, etc. If you decide not to buy Dangote cement today, you have several options. |

The man is really focused and is taking up the opportunity created by government's failure in those areas like refining, ammonia production and now steel. Wow! How I wish other Nigerians can see opportunities like Dangote sees in Nigeria. |

GeneralDae:please browse about erisco tomato paste, its an indigenous company, with zero support from any fucking Nigerian govt zero support from B.o.i, Dangote doesn't know shit about doing business in nigeria. He isn't that technically inclined. We need to be honest with our selves. Lets stop promoting nonsense in nigeria. We also have tasty tom, gino these other companies has dollars to spend. Most Nigerian business men sourced loan from international banks, because Nigerian banks won't give them loan, you won't blame the banks though, because most businesses hardly survives. Ibeto cement was shut down by obasanjo, lafarge came late, Bua is still owned by dangote family friend. Leave this talk jare. Most small businesses are killed by big businesses. At some point during obasanjo tenure it was only dangote cement nigeria had. |
Re: Dangote To Stop Sourcing FOREX From CBN by GeneralDae: 11:46am On May 13, 2022 |
toujurs:I fail to get your point here. If you are saying Dangote's Tomato business or Indomie Business didn't go as well as planned, then I agree and never said otherwise. As for Ibeto cement being shut down by Obasanjo, perhaps it had more to do with the fact that Dangote took the initiative to build a cement plant while Ibeto at that time was more interested in importing. But Ibeto is still in Business and running his business fine. Almost all of them are now manufacturers of cement in Nigeria rather than just mere importers. If you say Dangote doesn't know Business and only depends on Government, then I disagree with you. Dangote has all the numbers and audits of his businesses in his head, he can also explain the processes in detail with numbers to back them up. Go listen to him talk about cement or his refinery. If Dangote wasn't a good Business man, he would have failed in the other 13 African countries he ventured into with or without Government support. |

ceejayluv: Oga please kindly define the term "MANUFACTURE" & "ASSEMBLY" (in relation to Vehicles). Just enlighten us please. |
Re: Dangote To Stop Sourcing FOREX From CBN by ceejayluv(m): 11:50am On May 14, 2022 |
kinglee007:The assembly is The last Phase of the manufacturing process. Thousands of parts from outside suppliers (OEM) And company owned parts are sent to the assembly plant for the final execution. Of course , All those parts cannot Just be sent on a whim. There must have been a couple of years of the design phase, including the specifications order to outside suppliers and prototyping, before the first cars start rolling out of the assembly plant. Also, quality control checks And sundry tests are carried out in the assembly plant. Inherently, car manufacturing is a secondary manufacturing activity. |

Elmojiid: Monopoly? Govt all over the world would love to work with people like Dangote who create wealth and prosperity. Dangote is into cement manufacturing and there are currently more than 9 cement manufacturing companies in Nigeria with one of them (BUA) second richest man in Nigeria, Dangote is into Sugar, rice and noodles and the same second richest man and many other Nigerians are into the same commodity, Dangote is building refinery and the same second richest man and some few other tycoons are building refineries (including modular refineries), so how can u call this a monopoly? Dangote family have been richest family in Nigeria for the past 80yrs. Stop trading and venture into manufacturing and see if all incoming Govts won't work with u. Dangote is a blessing to Nigeria, stop this jealously! |
