Except things have changed, in 2019 I was able to register my 2 children in school with visiting visa. All that was required was my documentation as their mother ( I was a graduate student then on study permit). I took them to the school board covering my community and they were given letter to the school close to my address. And that was all. No issues till we got PR.

Jesu! Sis, I don't even remember considering St. Albert that year oo Chai! We ended up in Toronto. I don't know anyone in St Albert but I read it's a lovely place to raise a family. Before now, many immigrants shunned smaller cities because of job opportunities, but that has significantly improved with the ability to work from home these days. If I were landing now, I'd probably head to a small town. Do not fret. Nigerians are everywhere and I'm sure they will have a community there. Do let me know what you want to know about the health sector. You could also DM. God speed.

They're usually CAD except specifically stated.

Profiles expire after 1 year in the pool.

If you get ITA before the 1 year mark and accept it, then you leave the pool and no longer have a profile, instead what you have is the beginning of an application.

If you decline your ITA, you return back to the pool.

If you do nothing, your profile is removed from the pool at expiry of the ITA. Pls read page 1 of the express entry thread where this is explained in detail with links to the relevant IRCC webpage https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled#107239717

For details about when your actual details e.g. CRS, age, IELTS are locked (at ITA or AOR) read FAQ 27, 28 and 29 of page 1 of the Express Entry thread where it is explained in detail, again with links to the relevant IRCC webpage.

lol..pls if I may ask apart from thepurpose of fending for myself..is there any other reason why the 20 hour work is important..cos of course my program comes with a coop and I will most definitely work..

No, you can’t. You are only allowed to work 20 hrs/ week. Starting a business is not part of it.

Your purpose is study; when you are done school and have a a work permit/PR you can do whatever you like.

Abeg, I need some clarification on a few things. I moved to Canada recently from the US, but I have employment history in Nigeria.
When Canadian employers use third parties like Certn to conduct employment checks, do they contact our employers in Nigeria? I'm going through a background check right now which includes employment checks. My experience is a little overstated and I'm worried the employment check will reveal this. Should I be worried? As far as I can read from the website, they say they will contact the HR of the company.
