I have an issue with my visa application schedule page. I have booked an appointment before realizing that I omitted my middle name. I sent a message to the support
center, but they said they can't do anything about it. Will this constitute a big issue?

Please I need your advice on this. I just checked my visa interview application portal only to see that only my surname and first name are showing. On my i20, I have my middle name included. On my passport, I have my middle name included. On my Ds160 I also have my middle name included. Do you think this will be an issue during the visa interview? I don't know if this is how everyone's profile is because I am believing that I filled my middle name while creating the profile (not so sure of this). I need suggestions on what to do since I have not scheduled an interview but I have already paid and entered an MRV receipt number. Thanks for your anticipated response

Hello all, please what happens if one gets to the embassy at a later time than the appointment time. Will it affect one's chances of getting the visa approved?. Is it even advisable at all to get there late considering that some will want to come by road or flight to the embassy on that day.

I guess you mean Reciprocity fee.

We aren’t required to pay that fee anymore. Just proceed to your chosen location for passport collection after visa issuance.

I think it's best you wait for the other I-20 before scheduling your interview, as I don't think you will have access to edit the I-20 information once your interview is scheduled.

Unlimitedurch:
Thanks @Aniomaman81 for the response. Sorry I didn’t relate my question well. I’m expecting I-20 from a university where I got funding. That is my preferred I-20. But at the moment in other to book early appointment date, I want to use the SEVIS fee details from another university where I have no funding but the I-20 is readily available. I’m asking if I can still edit it when the other I-20 is available?

Hello Guys!
I need help. I have been offered admission for Fall 2022 in the US and my I-20 has been sent to me. I have completed my DS-160 application form. My program start date is 22nd August 2022. In the course of booking my appointment, I couldn't find a date before my program date. Had no option but to choose a date in 2023 with the hope of applying for an EA. Being a novice, I requested for an expedited appointment without waiting until when it's within 60days to my school start date. Will paying a new MRV fee solve my issue?

Remember they have their own specification.

Tinafusty:

Please give me the list of things I must take to the embassy,

Please can someone kindly respond to this.

What are the items to bring along to the embassy apart from I-20 and passport?

Hello house, please I’m planning to apply for my f-1 visa and I need clarification on a few things..
1. I used a proof of funding from my dad and my brother with the same surname that resides in the USA to get my I-20 from my school, do you think it’s okay to use the same statement of account at my interview.
2. Do I need any other doc to backup my brothers statement of account from the USA.
….
Thank you and I hope I get responses.

VO: Have you left Nigeria before?
ME: No I've not. The reason being that we work so hard in our law firm throughout the year. During holidays we do probono prison visits to assist some indigent prisoners to be able to be with their families.

*VO directs me to do Biometrics

VO: I can see you're going to Washburn University. Why this school?

ME: I chose the school because they offer me a flexible curriculum to be able to choose courses that are best suited for my aspirations. The Global Legal Studies is an umbrella name for LLM covering international students in the school. I'd be specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law.

VO: I can see you have some scholarship from the University. Who is paying the rest?

ME: My elder brother of full blood would be paying. He sponsored my Law school after our father's death.

VO: *cuts in*. what does he do?
ME: He's a Doctor in the UK. I also have some money of my own (as seen on my i20) which I will be taking with me as a buffer.

VO: What do you do?
ME: I am a legal practitioner at ***** in Nigeria. We are fully into litigation and at the office I settle briefs and represent clients in both criminal and civil courts.

VO: everything checks out

*Hands me the white paper* Though it's like a few days to the 120 days (124th day) to your resumption, I'd be keeping your passport rather than giving you the yellow one and you taking the stress of having to mail it back to us.

ME: Thank you Sir.

*Leaves the embassy*

My passport was recieved 2 weeks later. so anyone going before the 120 days resumption should expect some delays in the reciept of their passport.

Thanks to God for his kindness and grace
All these happened in less than 2 minutes.

I didn't believe I'd get the visa after having no travel history and that being the first question. I dropped my file on the side of the slab and didn't even look at it. No documents were requested.

Tips
1. Fill your DS160 yourself, be as detailed as possible
2. Your story has to make sense to you first.
3. Watch you-tube videos from ARGO VISA, this really helped a lot.
4. You will be nervous and it would be understandable.
5. You will see how ready you are when you start watching others in the interview room.
6. If you have no travel history, try and give a reason (if you have one). A simple 'No' without more may have resulted in a different reality for me that day
7. Lastly, PRAY for GRACE. that was my only prayer point.
