Despite missing a number of top-flight matches due to injuries, Asisat Oshoala has won the golden Boot after scoring 20 goals.

The 27-year-old Super falcons forward achieved the feat after scoring 20 goals in 19 league appearances and will share the award with Brazilian Geyse Ferreira who also managed 20 goals in 27 appearances for Madrid.

The award was confirmed on Sunday after Barcelona finished the season with a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid. In the game that saw both teams reduced to ten players, Oshoala was introduced in the 63rd minute but she could not add to her tally of goals.

Oshoala switched to Barcelona in July 2019 from Arsenal, for whom she made 13 league appearances in total, scoring two goals.

In topping the chart, she became the first Nigerian to achieve the feat. Her goals also helped Barcelona to win the league title unbeaten with 30 wins in 30 games.


Barcelona and Oshoala will now shift their focus to the uefa women's championships league final where they face Lyon on May 21.

Unfortunately they wont nominate her for FIFA Women player of the year award despite her consistency for years n winning Caf nations cup...such a shame

barca women won all games in the league, ashoola won golden boot and it reminds me back then when the men team dey dominate Europe and spain under pep, tito, valvede n Enrique..
an still waiting if I'll see a better team dt can dominate domestically and europe like pep barca did....the likes of Bayern, Liverpool n city came close bt dt pep barca with messi, xavi n iniesta on their prime was something else..
that was wen I would gladly skip work, church n even ignore bea go watch barca matches, unlike now
my best was dt united UCL 3-1 win in Wembley n mourinho 5-0 trashing in his first el classico, both games gave me orgasm..

I know she deserves nomination bt winning it would be very hard bcoz if u follow women football, u would know dt dey are better women players..
currently barca vs Lyon female team are in UCL finals..
the current top scores are alexia in barca and tabea in Wolfsburg n both have 10 goals..
our oshoola isnt in d top10 list, she can win best player in spain bt winning the women best player of the year would be very hard..

She should win the ballon Dior if she can also lead Nigeria to the Awcon title, coupled with her club titles. She deserves next ballon Dior and FIFA best but I doubt FIFA would give the award to a black player

leave that hater....up till now, its only pep's barca and flick bayern dt av won the sextuple since the ineption or advancement of football..
if Liverpool win the league, the UCL, super cup and club worldcup next season, they would join d list..
thats the real definition of dominating football for a season because its not easy winning all trophies wen so many big teams like united no even see one spoon win for 5 years...
if e easy, PSG, city n bayern for dey do am each season bcox domestic titles are easy for these clubs...

She was out injured from November till January, came back in January and was injured in February and then was out again till April, yet she still won the Pichichi.

Even if she wins the AWCON title,I doubt if she's winning any of those awards.
There are better female players across Europe.

She was very demoralised and depressed when she got injured a second time because it seems like she was very hungry for the Pichichi and the injury made it seem like she would not get it. She posted the first tweet yesterday after the game against Atletico.

(Many people didn't understand her tweet when she got injured and some people did not understand yesterday's tweet).

the men didn't win all games bt did 100 points n scored more than 100 goals....
for 3 seasons, only messi, neyma n suarez scored more than 100 in all competitions..
barca did 116 goals in 2016 season na....64 at home n 52 goals away
