If you have sense you would know that America did not invade cuba during the cold war era , yes America did enable its cuban proxies but it did not put boots on ground... America invade cuba during the war with Spain and pushed the Spaniards out of cuba, it helped Cuba gain independence , the fidel revolution ousted the government backed by Washington and allied itself with USSR....

I think Finland and Sweden joining NATO won't cause any trouble. Russia currently can mot force the two countries not to join NATO and it does not has the capacity to wage another war against the two.

But luckily for Russia, Finland has made it clear that it will not allow the US/NATO to have a permanent base or put any missile system in it's territory. Sweden is following the foot steps of Finland. She will likely make the same decision. NATO members like Norway, Hungary e.t.c don't have any US/NATO permanent military base or missile stationed on their territories. These two enjoy good relationship with Russia.

NATO was created to counter the USSR. Now USSR is gone. But the unending expansion of NATO is strictly designed to counter the Russian Federation. This may eventually lead to another world war.

Putin has shown that he has the resolve to do the necessary to counter NATO expansion in Ukraine. With this, my best guess is that if Sweden and Finland joins NATO, Russia WILL invade these countries. The question now is: What will be the NATO response to an invasion of a NATO member by a non-member? Remember that policies, initiatives and dictates are only as powerful as their enforcers.
