ultimatebas:What I understand by this is that you don't apply for visitors visa and use it for the above purpose. If you want to give birth in the US, you apply for B2 and tell the VO you are pregnant and would like to give birth in US. 1 Like |

Hello everyone, Any mama in Maryland at the moment or Maryland bound soon? Please I’m headed to maryland July/ August and I’m so confused. I birthed in Alaska the first time where everything was so close to each other and I didn’t worry about distance. I’m trying to gather my burden of proof, I need affordable hospital please. I’m going to staying in baltimore(that’s where family is now). I was looking at Prince Goerge county hospital as I heard they are quite affordable. But now they seem to be closed. Some of the other hospitals seem pricey as Maryland only gives 1-2% and from the look of things I may be having CS. Please considering my circumstance can anyone 1) recommend an affordable hospital ( preferably less than 10k with everything inclusive for vaginal and may be less than 12k for everything inclusive for CS? ) 2) please can you recommend a doctor ? Is Dr. Chaudry still working? He used to Use Prince Goerge county hospital is why I’m asking. Please help thanks. 1 Like |

Kemo88: Hmmm Maryland is expensive. I'd like to help but I honestly don't know how pricing is outside insurance but hospitals in Baltimore, Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland,Mercy Medical Center, St Agnes and the likes still sounds expensive. Mercy is $15k. If you can reach out to the doctor at Prince George if you still have his contact, he may have associates in other hospitals in the cities since that's where you want to stay. Best of luck 1 Like |

Hello house I came to US to deliver my baby, New Jersey to be precise. I wasn’t due until June 2022 and planned to deliver at a birth center for cheaper option. However, he came 6 weeks early and I had to be transferred to a hospital as the birth center doesn’t do any birth that isn’t full term. He spent 7 days in NICU and i received a total bill of almost $34k after discount. My question is is it ok if i choose a payment plan where ill pay a certain amount each month? This means that ill leave the country but will be paying my bills back home. Is it acceptable? Has anyone paid their bills over the course of 1 year? 1 Like |

Please what is the cost of giving birth in USA (Cheapest) ? Any advantage as a British passport holder traveling to give birth USA? Also is there any advantage if the person have siblings in US who are US citizens? Any advantage to the reduce cost of giving birth in USA ? Siblings reside in New Jersey. What's the cheapest hospital in New Jersey please? and price? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by UmmZayd: 11:45am On May 09, 2022 |
propertyhunter1: About siblings cost advantage, yes there is if the siblings are willing to cover the cost of birthing for the mother. Someone just posted giving birth at New Jersey so you may DM to ask her the name of the hospital used |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Kemo88: 12:50pm On May 09, 2022 |
UmmZayd: Please are you trying to say it’s ok for your sibling to use their insurance for you? I thought this wasn’t allowed and it could affect visa renewal in the future …. I understand this person is a British passport holder and doesn’t need a visa for the USA in the future but I’m asking for us visa users. Is it ok for you to use your siblings insurance ? Cos my sis has a solid health insurance plan of which she pays good premium. I won’t mind if I use her insurance and pay the remaining out of pocket bill o , if e no go affect visa renewal. After all it’s not tax payer’s money is it? Since my sis pays good premium or what’s it called for it. 1 Like |

Kemo88: Uh. I didn't mention insurance in what I said. If the siblings can "cover the cost of birthing" not necessarily use their insurance. They have money in their account don't they?? So if they can cover the cost, they should. 4 Likes |

Kemo88: No, you can’t use a sibling’s insurance to cover birthing costs. Only the people listed on her policy are have coverage. |

Hattie008:Congratulations on your baby, I pray God provides for you to clear your bills don’t worry everything will be okay, just let the hospital know you will like to draw up a payment plan to clear the thing while you’re back in Nigeria and they will allow you do so $34k is a lot and not many Americans can drop that amount cash down. I’ve read a story of someone here who was still paying small small for the previous birth while she went in to have to second one and she wasn’t sent back. 3 Likes |

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. Yes you can make arrangements to pay while you in Nigeria and keep receipts for your next visits Any idea why your baby was early, did you have any pre existing conditions or was it just spontaneous early labour? Hattie008: |

Somandla: Thank you. I’m honestly not sure why he was early. None of the antenatal checkups pointed to that and no history of early labor in my family. But 2 days before my water broke i visited a friend in Philadelphia and we walked a lot (not a lot to her but to me it was quite the workout) so maybe that had something to do with it lol 2 Likes |

Somandla: Its no big deal, just discuss with the hospital that you want to work out a payment plan and choose whatever amount that you can handle. I know someone that it took about 5 years for her to clear up her bills from naija |

hello all, please is there anyone who has had their baby in virginia in the last few months? were you able to get your child's birth certificate promptly? I had my child over a month ago and we have not been able to obtain the certificate yet. in the case for ETC please is it required to submit the birth certificate along with the documents or will the hospital proof of birth be sufficient. We have international travel planned for the end of the month and would appreciate any feedback from the group. thank you |

Good morning everyone, I wanted to ask about Medical visa, I have an upcoming B2 appointment in July 2022, I have gotten a letter from a doctor Z in Houston and a letter form my doctor in South Africa as well. My due date is oct, so I wanted to find out if I should leave by July appointment or I should apply for emergency expedite and cancel the July own. And can someone advise on what documents is needed to apply for interview with the intention of giving birth. 1 Like |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Debbieeeeeee: 12:25pm On May 18, 2022 |
omotapeju:Your edd is in October which is 3 months away from July, you still have time. if you ask me I’ll suggest you leave your July date. Emergency appointments aren’t always granted all the time it’s granted selectively and unless you can prove an emergency medical condition. A few people here have applied for and gotten emergency appointments, read their posts or reach out to them and of course, you have my best wishes! 2 Likes |
