Your focus on a clearance thread should be the goods you are acquiring at a clearance rate, and not the packaging involved or if and wether a seller can acquire the items advertised. There was one time when I ordered an item and the seller refused to deliver to my place. Ok where is your place in plc village. Not in pc village. Place was deep deep deep inside okota. House was looking like an otokoto house. In the end the transaction went smoothly, but I was on edge through out, and it showed.

One should always be on the look out for deviations in transactions.

As to complaints about accusations and suspicion, that is our legacy to ourselves.

There is a reason why so may sales platforms say they don't ship to Nigeria.

Sometimes when someone says they are selling a device you look carefully at the person selling. Because you want to be sure it is the actual owner selling the item. Or a person who has the money to buy and sell. That is also what KYC is about.

Look at the pictures of different laptops, phones etc shown on this platform.

It is usually in some kind of showroom or a neat looking room.

Now look at the area behind the phone. A very rough, unpainted fence. Bare ground, no concrete, no paving stones.

I look at all that and I see a seller who may not have the resources to legitimately aquire the device he /she is selling.

Even here most people who are selling phones etc, you see a background of floor tiles or something of that nature.

You have to also wonder, why is the phone not already wiped?

Anyways this is just me. It may be nothing but a seller who does not know how to do small packaging or it may be a seller who is helping someone else move dodgy goods.

It is always for the buyer to do due diligence and risk assessment.

if like so many other devices sold here, the phone was presented as switched off and outrightly for sale i would not be commenting

as it is i have to wonder, and anyone buying too should wonder -what is the actual source of the phone

be advised that however sloppy one thinks naija police are, when they are motivated, there can be real trouble

people have been arrested for buying phones that turned out to be taken from kidnap victims
the killers of cynthia okusogu sold her BB and police traced it to a buyer in PH
a person's galaxy was fixed with the chip from a stolen galaxy phone and police came knocking

a stolen phone can be traced and the buyer can end up in a world of trouble if the owner has the resources to push for its recovery.
