Watching the CAF Confederation Final, I think UYO PITCH is currently the best in the country. I still don't understand why Super Eagles aren't playing there.

That lad, Tolulope Ojo has got some moves. Brilliant performance from him today. Chose the biggest occasion in the region to shine brightest.

Hasn't scored since round 1 but did so twice today. Has been impressive playing from the right from previous games.

A fine talent.

Agreed. The guy was brilliant today. Credit also goes to Daniel Daga...what a calming presence! However, the defence needs some drills. Some of the goals they conceded in this tourney apart from penalties are avoidable.

Barca is an ambitious club ,auba is good but lewa is better

You can see that lewa is trying to take a 50 percent pay cut to join Barca

Bartomeu wasted our resources but we keep pushing

Lewandowski Koulibally and one midfielder is our goal

Raphinha for a cut price if Leeds will be relegated

Marcos Alonso as Alba backup for 8 million
Lol...see the Kain player you dey mention. Barca don regress o... Alonso Rapinha (What happened to Jutgla)
An ambitious club will never sign some of the players you mentioned. Lewa is old... hopefully he can go zlatan way

Besides the goal keeper and maybe the Daga boy, do you think the team can give us a player that could graduate to the super eagles in the next 3years?

I agree he is older than U-21. But Ibrahim Yahaya isn't even among our most exciting prospects in this U20 team.

The most exciting are:

- Daniel Daga (#13)

- The two remo stars youngsters, left back Lekan Oyedele (#20) and Winger/MF Tolulope Ojo (#17).

- The GK, Nathaniel Nwosu.

- The RB, Augustine Njoku

- Ahmed Abdullahi (who scored the second goal vs Ghana before injury in the 2nd game affected his time at this tournament)

- And CB, Tosin Adegbite (the skipper)

And maybe the #11, Ibrahim Muhammed.

The beauty of this is the best among them look like truly young lads. Now that's where I would rather focus on than on Yahaya. wink

Good you just used a stone to kill two birds now.

I'm not following the team, so I wanted to know if there were true prospects. Thanks

The defence tried. Considering the time they had to get prepared pre-tournament, I would give them a very decent pass mark.

The two Fullbacks impressed in large parts. Especially on the offensive. Defensively they still need more work.

But the Captain Adegbite must be commended. His calming presence at the back is the reason we stayed more organised for the better part of our plays in the tournament. He brought out the best in his CB partner, Sholumade. He and Nwosu (the GK) gave us calm and some assurance at the back.

Next 3 yrs? Hmmm... tough to say. It's not the first time we have seen talents shine so bright at this level or at U17 level but who kinda find it tough stepping up to the senior level.

But I trust my other post gives you an idea of the prospects who stand a chance in my opinion.

From WAFU to AFCON to WC hmm. Thanks for the info. Our age grade teams have been playing so many matches recently. It almost looks like leagues.

No thanks to CAF. I don't know why head of some big boys football federation are quite about this expecially the West Africans, this is to Our disadvantage I must say.

As much as I am a big Victor fan, Vlahovic deserved this one though. 2nd highest goal scorer, made his big money move, etc etc.

You are forgetting the amount of penalties Osimhen won for his side this season.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheLoneCitizen(m): 9:06am On May 21, 2022
Osimhen had the 4th highest XG (exc.penalties) in Serie A, which is even more impressive for a player I blasted for lack of movement.

TheLoneCitizen:
Napoli will not sell Osimhen next summer. Confirmed!

Exactly.

Vlahovic on the other hand won Zero pens in Serie A. Yet scored 5 pens.

Osimhen won 5 pens and didn't take a single one.

Legia Serie A picked the best. Osimhen deserves it hands down.

A Case could be made for Rafael Leao more than Vlahovic but I think the lad is in the running for overall MVP of the league if Milan wins it. He has Lautaro martinez and maybe Milan Skriniar to contend with.

Always a joy viewing your highlights reel.

Can't believe I left out Samson Lawal (#18) from my list of most exciting prospects in the team. I was actually impressed with his shift in the Semis vs CIV as well.

The team is indeed packed with some really genuine talents.

For me Ibrahim Muhammad is the best player on the team by far.
