The Mbappe to Madrid saga is finally over

Mbappe just played a fast one on Madrid.

In one summer, Madrid missed out on Haaland and Mbappe. Heartbreaking.

They would have gone for Haaland but they prioritised their Mbappe chase over anything else. So Haaland settled for Man City.

Then cometh the hour when Madrid thought they had their boy and he has stunned them with a screamer.

Mbappe calls Perez to communicate his No and will stay for 3 more yrs at PSG Commanding more powers than any player at the club. He is become a god in Paris.

Football is business afterall. The Mbappe camp played their cards well and got the best financial deal for their client but in the long run, will shunning the biggest club in the world come back later to haunt Mbappe? Time will tell.

Nice post, use small letter for the god. Capital G makes him referenced as the creator of heaven and earth.

The bolded is the koko. This is what I fear for the lad. But time will tell.

And if Haaland goes on to dominate England (as I expect he would) and possibly land the UCL for Man City eventually then expect Haaland to perhaps win FIFA The Best and The Ballon Dor before Mbappe.

In all, Time will tell if this decision will be his Doom or his breakthrough to higher levels in terms of a true legacy in the beautiful game.

But As for the money, Dude Don hammer. Lol

I think Mbappe is making the wrong call here. He was supposed to be the heir to Benzema's throne. Play side by side with Benzema for a few years and possibly shift to the forward role, to play as what I term a mobile striker.

Missed a big chance here.

how about mbappe winning the world cup with France and putting up performance as the last one he might just get the award because it 99% sure he will win the french league again and possibly retain being the top scorer the only problem will be champions league but world cup win can cover that wink

very big chance. He is not even goin to compete for place in the team with big Benz cus he performs better from the flanks where he tends to cut in to wreck havoc but superb replacement for hazard

He would hv been the face of the new Madrid that Perez is rebuilding cus in a season or two the likes of modric, benzema and Kroos will all fade off

that’s not debatable and winning the ligue 1 trophy for now is psg’s birth right in France

But how sure re we that France will win the next World Cup? They stand a good chance judging by the talent they boast in every position on the pitch even their bench but it goes far beyond that to win the World Cup sometimes

The last euro competition is a case study

They couldn't even win the last Euros.

But well, time will tell. It's really a stunning turnaround especially after he already gave Madrid his word to join them (although nothing was signed. Just verbal assurance).

I feel chasing a legacy should supercede trying to run a club and having a say in your clubmates' fate at the club.

Anyway, time will tell it all. Maybe Mbappe will be vindicated or maybe this will haunt him bad. Time will speak eventually.

Bryan Idowu and 21 y/o MF/CDM, Anwan Lawrence start for FK Khimki.
It is Anwan's first Senior start for Khimki in the RPL and his 4th appearance after joining them in January/February from FNL side, Olimp-Dolgoprudnyi.

A Hard tackling Midfield player (CDM), he bagged a red in his first appearance for Khimki off the bench. Since then, he has been settling in okay dropping fine showings against Rostov and Russian League leaders, Zenit St. Petersburg.

All games kick off in 20 mins.

Anwan case is exciting. I saw his profile on transfermarkt and it was stated he can play as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder. He should be in the Nigerian team in no time.

By the way supernerd. It seems our grassroots football is tied to foreign leagues and not our local leagues like enyimba, Kano pillars etc. Our best players move from football academies to Europe and other foreign leagues.
Our local clubs have to believe in grassroot football bad that is where the talents are.
The nff u15 is changing this but our local clubs need to patronise football academies for players.
Chidera ejuke and this anwan and most of our homegrown talents are products of football academies but our local clubs don't appreciate this enough

I actually feel Mbappe's decision will just elevate Vinicius Jr so much more in Madrid.

Mbappe was coming to take his LW role. Vini could have been shifted to the right.

So Mbappe's NO is Vini's Salvation. Vinicius will continue his evolution into Madrid's next big game Monster Player.

And you are right on all points concerning what choosing Madrid now would have done for him economically, brandwise and more. He would have easily become the face of the World's Biggest Club. It doesn't get bigger than that. But well, to each their own. He's made his choice.

Time will tell if it clicks for him.

true Sha but they made up for it by winning the uefa nations league I just feel they will be a strong contender and mbappe won't be tag as the junior Star going to this world cup his performance this time will be a big boast to his balloon d'or conversation and I hope this his decision won't haunt him because papa Perez don't forgive easily especially if you hurt his ego grin grin grin

the only reason I find reasonably for him turning Real Madrid down is that $4m monthly fees, nothing more,

even the aso rock ewu don run go America and nah that Kano Guldollar remains

Sometime last year on this thread, some of the posters here were saying Chukwueze was superior to Vinicus Jnr. How time flies
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:12pm On May 21, 2022
I believe every poster in here can now clearly see Vinicius have had the best season of his career so far. He came out like a hurricane this season and didn't stop.

One year or several months can indeed change opinions so don't let it surprise you. As for me, I always rated Vinicius Jr. Even when he struggled initially at Madrid, I always felt he will come good.

On twitter earlier in the season, I termed him my best and most favorite young Brazillian player to watch. The patience of Madrid with him has indeed paid off.

Vinicius right now stands above Chukwueze. I believe that should be common knowledge now.

Chuks remains a top talent though. Just needs that "Hurricane" season burst like Vinicius have had this season. I choose to remain patient with our Naija Robben.

Ejuke bags an assist.

CSKA up 3-0.

That's 5 goals, 4 assists for him now in 30 league games (20 starts).

Chukwueze was a better player than Vinicius before this season ,but now Vinicius is better ,person Dey pass person .

Vinicius that has not been scoring more than 3 Laliga goals every season despite playing for a Madrid side ,all pace and no brains ,Madrid fans won’t even argue this then

I stand on my words .

I am open to the idea of having the best we can boast of both from abroad and home. Making the team should be by merit not sentiment and emotions for instance a local based player or the ones from abroad must be better to earn a place in the team not by quota system

There was outcry from a section of the fans after the World Cup playoff against gh in Abuja complaining that more chances are given to players based abroad especially those with dual citizenship. Even many said that they lack the aggressiveness and agility to excel in African football and for that case they should be discarded from the team and for the football house to bring in committed players from the npfl to beef up the team
That's true. You campaign for FBs inclusion (good ones)

But has the NFF not been trying in that aspect? Why are you now talking down on them again

I no understnd? Stop been emotional and sentimental when it comes to certain topics and face fact

Since Neyma left Barca till date what has he achieved if not winning the league every season and the huge pay check he takes home weekly? It terms of European and individual laurels how many does a talent like neyma boast of since he moved to France?

As for raphinha if Perez wants him today and offer him a better payment package he will dump what so ever agreement is has on ground with barca. Just pray that Perez don’t turn his attention on him

Look at who is talking about emotional here while you are the one being emotional

Mbappe didn’t join Madrid yet you said it will haunt him as if you are God or what , Lol

You think Psg cannot win the ucl one day ?

Is neymar and mbappe the same type of player ? We all know neymar is an unserious player despite being one of the best ,can you say the same thing of mbappe ?

Neymar left Barca for Psg ,mbappe didn’t leave Madrid for Psg ,mbappe will sign a 5 year deal and will be 28 when the contract is over ,he can still go to any big team

Stop watching too much nollywood and change this your bush man mentality

Not joining Madrid will haunt mbappe and Psg as if they stole money from Madrid cheesy cheesy
