IPPIS is not the reason why these rogue ASUU is on strike. They have weaponed strike because respective government has always given in to their threats when pressure from the masses become unbearable.

There is no single reason why state university should join that strike but then we are a nation where everything is acceptable. In the SW only Lagos State University and Osun State University is not on strike. I think El Rufai has threatened Kaduna State University lecturer of no work no pay. What exactly is their business with FG when they are SG employees? Which solidarity are you doing without putting into consideration the lives of thousands of youth?

I will keep saying it, IPPIS is not the reason ASUU is on strike, they are on strike because they are greedy and always looking for way to arm twist the government.

IPPIS is not perfect, no system is but it can be improved upon to become better.

On the issue of IPPIS state universities have no business joining the strike except they have axes to grind with their state government .

On the issue of weaponizing strike , I’ve come to to the conclusion that strike is the only language successive governments understand in this country. Even though I was a victim of these incessant strike , most times I support it because our government don’t just listen except they embarrassed through these strikes. As a matter of fact , ASUU strike delayed my admission for almost a year , ASUU strike almost took an academic session during my undergrad days and ASUU strike still chop one full semester during my masters

I remember when judicial workers were on strike because they wanted autonomy and the ones in Rivers joined despite the fact that state government already granted them full autonomy.

He directed them to resume by end of May and they refused, when the strike was eventually called off, he removed the money from the days they didn't work from their salary.

That is the kind of iron hand ASUU needs. I have never seen where employees will be threatening and telling the employer how they MUST be paid.

Why do you think the govt should be moved by strike? It's a cost center to them not a revenue center. They spend more money there than they gain.

These same lecturers will go to private uni and never try what they are doing in these govt uni. Why?

They get paid well in private universities and their condition of service is usually better than public varsities . When I was in 100 level , when we have general lectures that all the 8 departments in the faculty takes ….. we get divided into two groups and each group may be as much as 700 students . Druring such lectures u will see the lecturer sweating profusely in the densely populated lecture hall shouting at the top of his voice trying to lecture . I don’t think these things happen in private universities ( I may be wrong tho )
