I made a mistake today. I was taking a nap when I checked my phone. I got an offer of $500 on DAN for a domain I listed for $3988. I wanted to counter with $2500. I never knew I was accepting the offer. The guy paid immediately. The thing pain me but I just have to allow the domain go in the spirit of fairness.

Congrats again on this sale, although I wonder if that's what you'd like to hear given the situation.

I was wondering if you could give an idea or tips on how you price your domains.

I know someone might suggest using GoDaddy tool, Namebio, etc. I do all that but I have never managed to price a domain higher than 2,999 (and I think it's just one or two).

What do you consider before opting for those 3,000+ price tags? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, really strategy changes as one grows in the business or with experience.
First, I deal with brandables and I have noticed that the lowest price for brandable domains on brandable marketplaces is around 2k and the average price is around 3k. ( I am talking about regular hand reg and expired names). High quality names cost more than that.
This is the model I use for my pricing. I adopted $2988 for my lowest price, and depending on the quality or industry, I may list for 3988, 4988 or even above.
Recently, I have stopped reducing the prices of my domains. Throughout last year, when my names are about to expire and I don't have plans to renew them, I was reducing the prices to $499. I discovered during my experiment that some names are bound to sell at the normal 4 figure prices but didn't sell just maybe because of the timing. Now, I prefer to sell one name for $2988 than sell 4 names for $499. My sale of purpo.sphere also confirms this because I was set to reduce the price a day before it sold. If I had reduce the price, I would have thought it sold because I reduced the price not knowing that it would have sold without reducing the price.
So instead of reducing prices now, I use Buy Now, Instalment and Make Offer on DAN. Atleast, if the price is too high for you, you can make offer and we can negotiate. This is my strategy for now. It may change later because strategies are meant to be reviewed.
I won't suggest the use of appraisal bots for pricing. They have misleading prices. Many of my domains that sold for 4 figures were priced at 3 figures by then. Using namebio or marketplaces prices is better. You have to be careful while using name bio prices because some of the prices are wholesale prices and not to endusers. You must learn to distinguish them.

Geo domaining is something i have mastered for a long time, and have built vast knowledge of. But i know that outbounding majorly begat sales of Geo domains mostly. So diversifying into Brandables is something i seek to learn if you have the time to explain.

But i am looking at Getting them from Expired domains like i do for geo, bacause am not to good at making up words.

I have some cool brandable names in the 19xx range I didn't submit to SH or Bb because of the stress...coin..approval time, an sometimes the lack of flexibility to adjust price coupled with their commission. I have 77 names on SH with two sales from the platform..like 3 namess on Bb with zero sales. I stopped submitting names this year on SH...I may start.

Hi Promxy, my job and career also made me quit GEOs. Outbounding was like a nightmare for me. Learning brandable is not rocket science. I learnt here before moving to Namepros and other blogs / forum. Though it may take time to start getting result, as brandables have low STR compared GEOs, you may still be using the GEOs as backup since you have mastered it. With time, you will start getting consistent brandable sales and you can then decide if you want to leave GEOs permanently.
I dropped a Namepros link on brandableshere some weeks ago, hope you went through it? I will keep dropping more links as I come across them so that everybody can learn.

I am trying to see if the names would have sold normally on conventional marketplaces like DAN or Epik, or the sale has the influence of the marketplace. For now, I have not been able to draw a conclusion but preliminary findings shows that good names will sell regardless of the marketplace.

The bolded is right, but Brandable marketplaces definitely have an influence on some sales because of their rigorous marketing. If you check the Squadhelp sales database there are some names there that will never sell on conventional marketplaces.

That ur immensive might not have sold in other markets...I feel it's Bb influenced.

My Quiqqe & auvero will not have sold in other markets... especially that Quiqqe. But sold on SH. Sh influenced.

Each markets have their names types that sell. The most important thing is to have money nd knowledge.

Like Sedo---german names .. European influenced. ..de extension like that.

Lol. Brandable is very crazy. That is why I really don't like reviewing names for people. Nobody knows it all and no one knows the name that will sell. Someone sold a name here on SH like a month ago, I won't have looked at the name twice but it sold at a good price. I was really waowed.
