Did you have your full tuition paid?

If not, What did you present and explain to him?

NgumimiT:
LANDING GIST

Good Afternoon my people.
I took the 8:05 am flight from Abuja to London, then London to Toronto using British Airways.

I arrived at the airport by 6 am, they didn't let my family in as usual so I proceeded to the check in desk on my own.
customs looked through my box of food and cleared me cos I had only dried food. At very step I was asked 'anything for us' but I only dropped in some places. One of my bags was overweight so I had to move things around before I was checked in. I chatted with the check in guys so they let my 23.6kg box fly without paying anything extra. Here they asked for arrive can and passport and I was given my boarding pass. I went back outside to cry and take pictures with my family before going back inside.

I went to customs and immigration after filing out the yellow card and they asked how much I'm carrying, I had less than 10k so no issues here. After getting cleared then I went to my boarding gate. We took off at exactly 8;05 am and an hour into the flight they gave us breakfast. It was nice, sausage, eggs, bacon, croissant and all. Then they also gave a sandwich, Juice and coffee later. The plane was very very very cold!! please carry a thick jacket and wear sneakers with thick socks and headworker if you get cold easily.

We landed in Heathrow at exactly 2:05 pm and had a 2 hour layover, before boarding here they asked for only passport and boarding pass. and we took off for the 7 hour flight to Toronto. They also served us two sets of snacks (pretzels and juice, then chicken sandwich and coffee) and dinner of mashed potatoes and chicken.

We landed by 12;37 Nigerian time but it was 7;37 pm here. Everywhere was bright and shining like 4pm lol.
I headed to arrivals, filled the declaration form and declared the foodstuff I was carrying before going to the customs desk. A handsome asian guy attended to me and asked what kind of agricultural produce I had, I told him spices and flour and he cleared me to head to Immigration.

At this point my heart was beating but I just kept calm, An imposing slavic guy attended to me and asked me for my acceptance letter and proof of tuition payment. He asked where I will be staying and how long my program is then he printed my study permit and coop work permit, stamped my passport and I was off.

Our baggage was unloaded already so I just located my boxes, put them on a trolley and went outside to order an uber. The weather was a bit warm since its spring, it only felt like low AC but I kept my jacket on. Headed to my airbnb and called my people.

I hope everyone gets to experience this and I am eternally grateful to this platform for giving me all the information I need to see my dream come true. To those waiting for PPR, it gets depressing and you almost want to give up but no matter how long it takes I believe its amazingly worth it.

Hello Freedomtours. The information your friend needs is on page 1 of this thread. Take time to read through the first few pages and as well as profiles of those approved. Most questions will be answered while reading through and following the thread.

Did she/he get an Advanced Entry 200L into Nursing? Because University of Manitoba doesn't offer Year 1(100Level ) admission into Nursing but into University 1 from where she or he would progress to Advanced Entry.

If its University 1, it would be an unconditional offer, meaning tuition deposit is NOT A MUST. So once the necessary documents (from page 1) is available, visa application can submitted.

But if your friend got the advanced entry(200L), then follow the instructions on the offer letter.

If the offer letter is through an agent and shows Nursing Year 1…… be vigilant please( verify that offer)

All the best.

Don't panic. Study visa application process doesn't call for that. You either get approval or denial.

If you get denial, you will mend the issue raised and resubmit. You'll get your visa approval at last.

With guidance, you can be rest assured of smooth process: although that doesn't still guarantee visa approval, but chances of approval can be increased. You just must do it the right way and leave the rest to God.

Documents to submit apart from the "obvious" ones as you've said are dependent on your case scenario. Documents Mr A submitted may be different from those of Mr B. It all depends on your situation.

Thank you @ShowYoung for the feedback.

If you don't mind i would love to have my sop proof read.

OK thanks, yeah want to use as proof of self employment, I have only the CAC certificate even though it doesn't ever show my business name in the search engines.
ShowYoung:

I don't know the reason for wanting to submit receipts, but if you are trying to prove you are self employed, IRCC didn't stipulate a receipt has to look somehow: even for study visa, they didn't stipulate receipt is mandatory in proving self employment. There are many other important documents to prove self employment, some of them are CAC documents (certificate of business name registration, certificate of incorporation, Articles and Memorandum of Association, corporate bank account statement, purchase invoice etc).

Receipts either electronic or handwritten are only mandatory to prove self employment in a case of Express Entry FSW or FST or PNP, it is not mandatory for study visa in as much as you have other important documents as proofs.

Your CAC certificate is Ok, you can go extra mile by getting reference letter from your client or invoice from them. You can as well submit the receipt you have.

It would be better if you had a business bank account.

Innit2022:
I applied to UNB on March 31st and got admission on April 28. However, I declined the offer.

I had already received my offer from the University of Ottawa and it was a better option given the quality of educational activities

Good afternoon Nairalanders I’m about applying to some schools for graduate studies under the faculty of Art (sociology)but then I was made to understand that some schools have higher chances of visa approval.

Please how true is this and then again I’m looking for schools with relatively low tuition fee with good chances of study visa approval.

Some of the schools I selected were UNB, Concordia university of winnipeg & university of saskatchewan.

Please guys I need your input on this.

God bless us all!!!

The claim about some schools having higher chances of visa approval than others is baseless without facts and evidences. In as much as the school you're enrolling in is a DLI, you are qualified to apply for visa and get approval if the factors stated below do not count against you.

The major factors that increase visa approval rate are Home Ties, Economic and Financial Assets, Purpose or Intention of Visit, Academic or Career Progression among others.

If you have positive scores in the factors stated above, your visa approval is sure if medical examination, criminality and others don't count against you.

House pls kindly advise, I want to apply for a study visa with my 3 kids. I already have my admission with a DLI school. I will appreciate someone who did same to advise both on the fee and other things involved. Thanks

Hi Erudensi,

I think the fee for SP is CAD150 while visiting visa fee which you will use for your kids is CAD 85. Other things involved is to gather your documents, funds and draft a convincing SOP which will involve explaining why you are going to study and travel with 3 kids, then also think of what you will use as home ties etc.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by zeza01: 3:54pm On May 22, 2022
Good morning Nairaland Family. my application was submitted Since January, medical and biometric passed February, eligibility started March, since them no news only ghost mail.

I used a licensed agent. My concern is that he is not worried, keep telling me not to bother myself that I will get it, but I am worried honestly. I have deferred from January 2022 to May 2022 and again to September 2022, I don’t want to defer again.

My question is:-
(1) is it possible to send mail to IRCC without the agents knowing, he will think I am trying to go behind him and do his job if he finds out. I don’t want him to know(They are big agency, I no want any problems)

(2) what can I tell IRCC in my mail(please i need a sample)

Note: I have my application number and UCI number too.

Pls which agent did you use for your application?

Thanks and God bless you're here. Which bank did you use and what's the process like? I don't want to use flywire, rate is quite ridiculous. How much in naira did you spend for the $1,500? Did upload the payment immediately?
Thanks

Payment has to be through one of the payment methods on the school's website,
I used flywire because the other options were more expensive,
Flywire will generate an invoice you can use to make your payment and be sure to note the expiration date on the invoice.

Yea i used Access bank and it took almost the whole validity time of the invoice for the payment to be made
Spent about $1179 USD - a bit over N500k cos of the transfer charges, i am yet to get confirmation feedback from flywire of successful credit to the school

Login into MyUNB and goto international payments and tuition.

Generate an invoice (for your choice amount) using CIBC student pay (in USD). Print the SWIFT PAY instruction sent to you and use it to process your Form A.

PS: look for any trustworthy person with Jaiz bank account, credit them with the equivalent CBN rate naira and have them pay your school fees for you.
Process doesn't take more than 7 busines days to reflect in your UNB student account.

Good luck.
