It is just a common notion. The moment You see a guy or lady with tattoos, the first impression you get is either the guy is a yahoo boy, drug addict or anything sinister. For the girls, she is either a runs girl, a blown ashawo or a lesbian. These are common facts.
And yes, having tattoos and dreadlocks will make law enforcements point at you first In a crime scene. It makes you appear irresponsible at first sight, and for a lady, it makes you look whorish.
I once had dreadlocks in 2020, just before the endsars protest and I remember being stopped and searched by the police at least in more than 3 occasions. In one of those occasions, I was the only one searched out of all 7 passengers in a shuttle bus as our bus was stopped.
In fact, in one of those occasions, the policemen were so confident I had something incriminating that, even after searching me and not seeing anything, they drove me and one other guy to their station and made us UnCloth to our boxers and searched everywhere. One of them practically sat in their office and perused through my phone, from my gallery to my Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp,etc, just to find somewhere to fault me, but they found nothing and had to finally apologize with an excuse that they have been apprehending criminals with guns lately around that area.

Most people draw tattoos where it can be hidden. Wearing a long sleeve to work or interview covers your tattoo. Blood donation stuff you mentioned there is a lie too. I have a brother who keeps dreads, he’s not an entertainer but a student, he keeps getting harassed by law enforcement agents until he shaved them off.

I have a friend in uk who keeps dreads and works in a white collar office and no one baits an eye.

I was in a bus going to egbeda on a Sunday and a lady started preaching, sharing living faith tracts, when she alighted she was wearing a leg chain, I just smiled because most people will term her as prostitute, yet she was either going to or coming back from church.
