Put car in park and accelerate. If it cools then the new compressor too may be bad. But if it cools only when car is moving then it may be the fans

No idea boss, just suggestion going by what other says, check the compressor well and your thermostat can be the problem as well. If it's the fan, I won't to believe it will affect the temperature

Good day Nairalanders, please i need your help

My name is Ayo, I’m a fresh graduate of English from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State. Due to the ASUU/NASU strike we've not been able to do clearance. I’m the first born and the entire house is already looking up to me for daily bread. I’m 22 and i live in Lagos.
To cut the long story short, im looking to start Uber services as i have nothing to do. I’m calling on to the good people of Nairaland who have a fairly used camry that i can get on hire purchase for this.
I can bring my parent for a meeting, i can drop the original of my drivers license, the car original papers can be withheld as well. If there is any other arrangements/conditions that i would have to meet up please let me know as I'm ready to abide by all reasonable conditions. Thank you everyone in advance for saving me from this depression.

Good morning.

Most people will require a deposit to release a car on hire purchase. If you have no bar to deposit when you eventually get the car, it would be better you narrow down to rental for a start.

One way to which direction please?

Please do this before spending any money.[If you are sure, your fuel pump is not the issue.

Go to your fuse box.

You can check it yourself, or direct your rewire to help check for the fuse for the ECM. (brain box).
Check whether the fuse is not broken ( it usually has the designated power ratings written on the underneath of the fuse box cover, others like, lamp, Horn, fog, bla bla ) . For a corrolla, the ECM fuse is marked '20'. Do not use a '10 or 15' for a '20' .

There's always a spare one in the fuse box. If there's no spare, Don't bridge with wire, change it. Don't buy those new China fuse,

Tokunbo fuse is around ₦50-100 per one depending on ur area. Last last, it can't be more than ₦150 per one. Buy from those vendors selling Tokunbo light bulbs, lamp holders. horn.

Your engine should be OFF when doing this. Drive around and see if there's any improvement.

This advice is pro-max ooh... I almost lost my car to fire last year due to my rewire bridging one of the fuse with wire I just thank God if not my car would've burnt to ashes.
Most of these by cut our mechanics do here can cost us our life and fortune.

Don't use a higher or lesser fuse in place of another and don't bridge a fused it can burn the SAM or fuse box, in some cars the car can even go on flames.

Let's be guarded, know these things and monitor your mechanics when they're working on your cat especially the electrical aspect.
Mechanical aspect can be managed to get to your destination or out of danger zone but electrical? Is like sitting on a time bomb.

So let me share my experience on car search
recebtly.

For the past 3weeks now I've been in search for a Uber car for a client, the budget is low, say below 1m naira.

These are my observations:

1. 95% Nigeria used cars are write-off. Thermostat bypassed, electrical components destroyed, no 100% 1st body the list continues.

2. Dealers are not smiling at all they're seriously out for business... A good one to say so for you to get a good deal from direct seller you've to be smart and faster than Usain Bolt.

This is what happens, take for instance I decide to sell my car I then post it on SM with the price, direct sellers just want to sell asap at their own market value so most of them are selling cheap. So they state a cheap price these dealers guys will call and tell them they're coming to pay right away, some of them have the eagles eye so from just a glance from the pictures they know what is in the car they can even transfer to the seller then send their boys to go pick up the car without any further inspection. Most of the time they are lucky. They've a hand full of mechanics and rewire who do cheap and bad jobs for them so they do minor fixing and maybe painting then resale.

Some of them contact owners to convince them to sell, they put these cars at their stands with high price and this car can be there for months without no one coming to buy them because of the high price they've placed in it.

Imagine, I saw one 07/08 civic that has been parked probably over 6months, a manual drive and the baba was telling me 2.2m... a naija used cargrin I just dusted my hands without saying a word to him and left. So annoying

This are some of the reasons we don't see good deals and those of us that gives dealer to sell don't get buyers for months.

3. The best deal one can have is from direct seller. Like from the picture within, 08 Elantra, nothing to fix apart from just change the Oil sensor finish. Car entered 9ja, Mar, 2020 and owner bought it last year, and paper expired April 5th last month. Sweet deal @1.5m last.

PS: can't seems to find the pictures.

4. To get a good car for Uber one needs to have;
1-1.5m for Honda Civics
1.5-2m for Corolla
1.3-1.7m for Elantra
1-1.6m for Kia/Mazda

Then you've to have a good network and patience as well because good deals takes time to come by and once you get one be fast about it else some.vultures will get there b4 you.

5. Going with mechanic is good but only go after you've first, seen and are satisfied with what you've seen then he can come in the next day to do his job but most of the time... Hmm... Let me leave it at that

I will stop here, these search cost me time and money but I'm dishing it out freely here but anybody that needs my services to help search for a car should know that it won't come for free because it requires a lot of time and money to move around.

Yesterday Monday I left my house 8am and got back home past 7pm yet na only one good car I see which is above client budget. Imagine if I'd used that time to hustle I know what I would get.

Heard it on radio this morning about operating any other ehailing approved by government and number to reach out too.

Yeah I heard the news where all approved apps were called, Uber, Bolt, Lagride, trips, etc indriver was not mentioned.

They admonished riders not to take ride trips with any apps not approved by the LASG as they're not licensed to operate and no physical office to locate or address issues should any security issue arises.

LASG can't do shit grin and they know it. It's cloud technology, the hard drives and servers are tucked safely somewhere offshore.

They can, it's just to give a directive to the network providers to block their IP that's all.

These things are easy, only that with VPN one would still access it but how many people has that time to do VPN settings... Like me now I never downloaded Twitter again even after the ban was lifted.

It's just that we've illiterates as leaders so most of them don't know what to do

I've but can't direct you to them because they're are all the same- out for daily bread so will still scrape ur headgrin

Both the part sellers and mechanics are the same, just find time and go there yourself you'll gather experience.

But why not refill the shocks instead especially if the rods are not badly damaged it's just 500-1k to do one and it will still take you for some months or even years since it's the back once.

Back shocks are hardly being changed tho so you should get a good one as toks but should you decide to change them make sure you get the genuine once.

Buy a bearing a out in it as most of the toks they sell are new once so what then is the need?

As for the shaft, just buy the complete one and replace.

Be careful with those ladipo boys ooh all of them na business ppl o a university graduate can't outsmart them in their field ooh... So be careful

My brother, na govt you go hold on car prices spiking. The duty on vehicle is rising. That was the reason for the strike at the ports earlier, it was like a 300% price increase then. It was put on hold but news/rumour has it will be in effect soon. So car dealers are updating prices to the effect. Basically they are anticipating the rise for both dollar and duty against restocking for new cars.

Reason I said they're in for business nevertheless, our greed as Nigerians is too much and again government is just there to steel from our hard earned money after double taxations.

My advice try and go to the market yourself.
I just realised this not too long ago.
My trusted Kazeem has been enjoying me on parts.
I normally pay 7k-8k for lower arm (one),
It was recently I went to purchase fan myself, I found out that lower arm the two cost 10k or less, because I didn't price.
The dealer just said 10k and I said ok.

Just make sure u carry the parts along and buy the same thing.
Also try and avoid all these baranda people in the market.
