There are a whole lot of reasons why Lagos is doing far better than a whole lot of other states . For example almost 80% if not more of sea Cargo imported into the country gets imported through Apapa port and Tin can Island both in Lagos. Only Onne Port amongst the other port can boast of being functional like the other two ( though receives significantly cargo imports ) . The rest ports are as good as dead.

It is only reasonable for manufacturing firms who unable to get suitable site for factory in any of the industrial estates scattered all over Lagos (industrial estate that have been existing when Tinubu still dey University for Chicago ) to pitch their tent in neighboring Ogun state .

While it’s not debatable that security is a major deciding factor in deciding where companies/firms set up their operational base, it is important to note that over the years Commercial activities have been run through Lagos not because of the super powers of those in government running Lagos but the historical commercial positioning of the state . I grow up to meet textile companies in the aswani areas of Isolo, Ilupeju industrial estate and the pharmaceutical companies and factories in dem Ikeja industrial estates .
