Like i said in my post I am not the social type and more so don't like where I will see human gatherings. I am okay with being a loner. Personal joy is not attached to what others do to be happy but rather what makes you happy. I spend majority of my time studying online, making research on electronics and lastly I work remotely.

Even if I am offered a free vacation I will never accept because I am not a fan of travelling. Lastly, I can spend the next six months indoor without coming out and will never feel any different. We find joy in differnt ways. Peace.

Okay. I think I understand you.

You see, we all have vices. You strike me as someone who can spend "sinful" money on a solid piece of electronic. And it's okay, because you get your satisfaction from it.

I have vices that N500k can't fund. So I don't think it's a lot of money as monthly salary. This has been my point from the onset.

To truly be who we want, afford what we like, N500k is not a lot of money.

Having much responsibility doesn't mean the guy isn't rich. In fact, na person wey get responsibility and sustaining the responsibility is considered to be rich irrespective of what the person earns.

Being "rich" is a question of location...

If you reside in Banana Island, Lagos, your living expenses will piss on your monthly 500K...

If you reside in Ikeja, you're a "big boy" and if you don't allow those runs girls at Ikeja City Mall to milk you dry, you may afford to buy a Nigerian used small sedan without Police case...

If you reside in Mowe, Ogun State, you can talk about acquiring a manageable size of land and maybe have an uncompleted building to your name in like a year...

If you decide to live in Baruten, Kwara State (near Benin Republic), with your 500K, you can easily be crowned a King.
You deserve 2 bottles of chilled Heineken cheesy

Even if you earn 20 million and have bad spending culture you will not be considered rich too, being rich goes down to your ability to save for financial dry seasons. That 500k is what Generals, professors and consultant doctors get monthly. They are rich in their capacity considering they earn 15 times the minimum wage.

These ogas you mention may make 500k in cash but if you add their allowances, e go pass 2m. House (fully furnished with gen and free diesel supply, car, driver, maids, cook, travel per diem, business class travel, some even get kitchen and wardrobe allowance plus children school fees paid for. Don’t compare an Oga at the top to one small boy cos you hear 500k angry

since you dont have responsibilities,you are a big boy.but try to invest ,try build better house so everything go blend well.Then acquire lands and fence dem.Then you are a rich guy.just manage your funds wisely then you will enter wealthy league.one of my uncle earns that amount of money,but he get reach 25 children,omo we no dey see the money for him body.na so sons expenses he dey sort.so he is not rich ,he get luck say he manage build house grin

not necessarily, just speak for yourself.... For me as my income increases my lifestyle doesn't change greatly with it... When I was working for someone my salary moved up 4times consecutively before I change my living space, not because I wanted to, but because it became a necessity... Na this mind set of when your income increase your taste increase with it make una dey stagnated in same job that someone else who might even be earning lesser than you and doing better than you... I'm talking from experience aiit even if RN I don't work for nobody my lifestyle remains the same and RN I save 85% of my earnings and spend 15% as against spending 80% and saving 20% then I was working for someone with almost similar take home..

Speak for those that have zero in economics sha not me. With that pay I will enjoy my life here in Nigeria and never look for more. I will still save 250k per month at the end minimum. I live a minimal lifestyle, no smoking, drinking, clubbing, womanising nor friends and don't fancy social attention.

Na broke ass mentality be this, guy when the money starts raking in, your mentality will surely change and you will want better things at higher cost.

Others are just being sentimental, 500k is $830 salary monthly. My sister earned $1,200 as a nanny for a special needs child with only waec back in the days in the USA and someone said 500k is rich. This just goes to show that people are living in squalor in this country.

500k is average. I earn 1m+ monthly and I don't see myself as rich at all, I still have a long way to go. Plot of land is in millions, good cars are expensive. I refuse to buy a car older than 7yrs, that's 2015, check the price. I had to upgrade my apartment after hoodlums broke into my former apartment cus I stopped "dropping something", I lost over 2m worth of property in that raid cus I wanted to live in an apartment below 1m, now my first priority is security and a sane neighborhood, rent is now well above 2m.
Building a house? Plot of land in bariga is around 10m+/- 10% currently, I won't go to live with snakes and scorpions or subject myself to a life of 6hrs daily traffic cus I want to build my house on a land of 1-2m.

Rich starts from at least 2-3m. Anything lower is average.

90% of salary earner receive blow 300k monthly in Lagos, Abuja, and PH....

You estimations are not realistic.
50k per month to feed a family of 4? Na only garri and ekpa and ogi dem go eat? Ordinary a bag of rice is over 30k. Bean is very expensive. Gas kno? Even kerosene I here is over N700 per litre. Una no go buy meat, fish or chicken? Na only once a day una plan to eat? Will the children not take food to school?.
Health plan 7500 per month for a family of 4? Na agbo una go de drink? Or na pastor go dey cure your family? Ordinary malaria tablet is over N1000. I bought augmentin last week for my daughter, it was over N4k.

Most of your estimate are unrealistic.
