Speak for those that have zero in economics sha not me. With that pay I will enjoy my life here in Nigeria and never look for more. I will still save 250k per month at the end minimum. I live a minimal lifestyle, no smoking, drinking, clubbing, womanising nor friends and don't fancy social attention.

And what life are u now living?

No sin, no socialization and yet there's money to spend?

Ita basically because you've not gotten such funds, you will find your Taste and circle of friends change, and gradually you learn some vices.

You are comfortable atleast.

Btw, that’s my monthly rent where I stay. Excluding water, electricity, wifi, gas and pay tv subscriptions.

This is not true.
Over the last 12 months, my earnings increased by an excellent percentage and I have more savings than in any other year.
The reason is simple, I did not change my lifestyle. Besides Food, TP, and rent, what took money out of my pocket was gifting.

Leave these people... They have never seen or earned real money!

Nairaland is filled with people who assume ridiculous airs. People that fake it so unnecessarily. Even Dangote and Otedola won't look down on 500K a month.

People who grew wealthy through hard work don't turn their nose at where they were before.

I spend my money on my hobbies e.g research, electronics and videogames. You must not socialise to be alive, there is much more to life. Besides, I never complained to you.

I earn over a million monthly, yet I don't see myself as rich

Others earn a little past 600k monthly and not only see themselves as rich, they actually live it up!

That's why it is subjective!

If Elon Musk looks at the account balance of most entertainers, he will probably despise them as miserably poor!

Your perception of wealth is your choice not fact!

If you don't go beyond your limit, you will soon get rich with 500K monthly. It depends on individual lifestyle

The bolded is absolutely correct. Infact it can't be more correct. You are a genius.
I've since told myself that I will not consider myself rich until I set up my own biz that can generate a monthly income of at least 2mil. Only then will I relax and tell myself that I am rich

no be fight man. Truth is bitter anyway. I also perceive you have poverty of knowledge and understanding. If you think you need a particular sum to be rich then you are not far from poverty.

'Rich' is a mindset, the one that enables a man to make decisions that'll add value to his life. You have to get it right first before you escape poverty. I thought you knew that. For that guy to land a job of 500k plus, it means that he has something qnd its that thing that will add value to his life. Not knowing this amounts to poverty (I don tire to type)

Rubbish, you only need to taste it to know that in our present Nigeria, 500k will not make you rich if you havr four or more children that you intend to give quality life. And if you have an aged mom that depends on you like I do......I & my wife earn a joint Salary of 450k & we are not vain yet we can call ourselves rich & we have 2 kids not 4 & we live in Surulere not Lekki.

3m will get you a tokumbo 2003 -2004 Toyota Camry (pure water). Do you consider a person buying a used Toyota Camry as rich?

30m will buy you the 2021 model Toyota Camry brand new. Do you consider someone driving a 2021 Toyota Camry rich?

A brand new Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class 2021 model will go for ₦300,000,000. Now do you consider someone driving it rich?

Which of these 3 will you consider rich?
The bone of contention is if we can consider someone earning 500k in Nigeria as being rich by International and not Nigerian standard.

True sir... 150k is quite small even for a bachelor, but that is the reality of most Nigerians today.

How many Nigerians see legit 500k every month to call it common or average?!! That is my bone of contention on this thread.

Many of those making empty noise about how small the amount is actually live well on less as we type. So why the needless bragging all over?!!

The annoying part is this constant comparison with those earning Dollars abroad... Like what kinda dull economics is that?!!

It's so annoying to see Nlders labelling an amount that 90% of Nigerians don't earn anything close to monthly as average.

What's the average household income in this country? It's a shame we don't have the statistics. But the CBN report about bank savings was an eye opener.

Nairaland is social media like Instagram and Twitter where people lie through their teeth. Take them seriously at your own peril.

You don't even need CBN report to tell you that, averagely, most working and hustling Nigerians don't earn anywhere near half a Million monthly. That's a Lottery by Nigerian standards.

Don't mind some of these people forming what I don't know! grin

Where them see the money sef?!!

The only thing this economy has done is to make people who are wise to be more prudent with their money... They confuse financial prudence with poverty!

They believe extravagance and showing off are equal to being wealthy! Such pathetic reasoning.
