Vinny102: While getting a response from the office of the MP is very encouraging, however, they will not compel the IRCC to expedite a faster processing of any application as far as I know. Having said that, they usually have their contacts in the IRCC visa department who can follow up on your TRV application. The IRCC on their part would see that the office of the MP has an interest in your file which could make them do something about your case. Hope this helps. All the best. 1 Like |

Contacting MPs now may not yield something meaningful. New parliamentary rules now limit the MPs' interference to the IRCC work. That is why many Canadians are calling for the setting up of an Ombusman for the IRCC by the parliament. The Minister of Public Safety in Canada has already drafted a bill to establish for a body to be overseeing the work of the CBSA officers. We are waiting for the Immigration Minister to do the same. Vinny102: I would not know where your application is being processed but most applications from Nigeria for temporary residents are handled in Nairobi Kenya. I mentioned Abuja because they are proactive most times and also domiciled in your country of origin. Abuja - ABUJA-IM-Enquiry@international.gc.ca) |

Kurukuru:@kurukuru, are u saying that the MP can not even contact them concerning the application even if he can not influence faster processing? and re u saying also that they will not take up the application even after being contacted by the MP? If the MP's intervention is totally useless as u claim, do u think the MP will demand for more information about the application from the applicant as he demanded in that response that he sent to me? Please educate me more Thank u 1 Like |

Blessed451: Hi Blessed451, Good day, Please I have a question. I applied for a visitor visa since January to visit my husband, I did my biometric January 11th, and up till now I haven’t gotten any feedback from IRCC. I checked the processing time from Nigeria, sometimes it shows 88days, sometimes 92 days, but now it is showing 102 days. My application process is 5 months now, I have sent web forms but no response, I don’t know what else to do. 1 Like |

EmjaySimon: They are giving more priority to Ukrainians and those who applied for study permit, they have been quite inconsistent in their processing times, VV approvals from Africa has been quite slow in recent times. What you can do now is order for GCMS note and/or contact MP. Don't give up. Lastly, u can try applying via the new portal who knows. Cheers |

CYAD: The same story, they said your application is in progress. When you submit your application and do biometric that's what you will see on the portal until they have information for you. |

My husband recently applied for VV and has a valid biometrics till 2029 ( previously applied in 2019) but he got a message last week Friday to pay $85cad for biometrics. Its been paid but we are quite confused as to why it was requested since he has a valid biometrics on file. Can anyone relate to this please? |

Please guys, what is more important in a statement of account, balance or cash flow? The statement has a cash flow of about N45,000,000 and a balance of 600k as at this morning. I want to use it for a tourist visa. |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by noeloge82(m): 2:38pm On May 26, 2022 |
shuri: Both are very needed cash flow shows your doing biz or working and earning income while balances shows that after visiting you will not be a liability because of no cash to fall back to in my opinion 600k as balance is too low try and step it up atleast 2-3m |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 2:48pm On May 26, 2022 |
shuri: Both are important o, if the cash flow is within 4-6months then the account is good. The balance now will be a concern to most VO's, that balance of 600k will cover only flight roundtrip so you see. What I recommend is allow the account to have a good balance then print it out before any withdrawal. Next time sef print out the statement of account when the account balance is bulky before withdrawal. Cheers 1 Like |

Hello, please can someone help me with answers to the following questions: A friend sent me an invitation(he's a canadian citizen) for myself and my family and we submitted in April but no update yet. He will be out of canada for most part of June and we don't know if IRCC will want to call to confirm our relationship with him. Questions: 1) Will it be OK if he writes IRCC to tell them he has invited us to visit him in July and that his letter is to confirm our invite incase they are not able to reach him b4 he gets back and what office/dept can he write if he has to? 2) The vacation is meant to be in July, is it OK to start sending emails/webforms now even though the application is still within the processing time frame? I will really appreciate the gurus in the house to help answer the above questions. Thank you |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 9:32pm On May 26, 2022 |
phyla: Good evening, If he's a Canadian citizen I don't think sending additional message to IRCC explaining his absence (in June) will make any significant difference, the letter of invitation he has sent to you if detailed and citizenship ID amongst other documents should be enough. Moreover, they can easily verify his information and contact him via email IF they need to. But hey, follow your instincts who knows 2) If the application is still within processing time then you should be patient until first week of June thereabout if nothing has moved then you can start sending them a message. 1 Like |
