I was traveling from Ibadan to Ekiti when my Toyota Camry 2005 stop moving. I called a mechanic and, we discovered there is no Gear oil, I purchased Gear oil and proceed on my journey. After an hour trip, the car stop moving, I discovered the gear oil has drained out and, the gear area was very hot. I packed the car and, took public transport. The car was later towing to Ekiti.

The Gear guy said the gear pump is the problem and, the gear socket, the two were changed. After that, the car doesn't enter reverse, he said, it's the reverse fibre, we changed it. The reverse is okay, but, when driving it's very difficult to enter gear two, and, later the car will just stop moving. I have stopped driving it, but, yesterday I decided to drive it to a nearby bus stop, the car stopped after 2 minutes drive, but, if I remove the battery terminal and put it back, the car will start moving again.

I've spent a lot and, it's like the gear guy doesn't know the problem at the same time extorting me.

I would appreciate any professional advice I could get.

You should have scanned the car to know the real issue.. most of this so called mechanic only predicted and most times guess wrong....

Bro dont spend to repair the gear again.

Just close eyes and buy another gear.

gudppleg8nation bro just change the gear box.

The gear teeth have been affected since the oil dried.
I also suspect your gear box seal.

Gearbox is best replaced to give you peace o else you will just be dashing gearmasters money.

Will advise you to replace the gear completely.
