Hi,

I bought the ITec GH 500 last MONTH. the Power rating is 3kw. It carries my Samsung inverter refrigerator comfortably plus the light in my rooms.

I rarely use it as there's relative constant power supply in my area.
I'm impressed by the quality of the generator versus the price though.

The engine start isn't working. I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I had to manual start before it came up. What could be the issue?

Did you install the battery properly? There's a liquid ( electrolyte) you should pour into the battery case before connecting it. If you can upload pictures, it will help.

It won't power such AC effectively unless the AC is inverter type. Meanwhile this generator you uploaded is not original.

Did you install the battery properly? There's a liquid ( electrolyte) you should pour into the battery case before connecting it. If you can upload pictures, it will help.

Weak battery is the likely cause, wasnt it tested b4 you bought it?. It shud work 2moro if so, as the battery would hv recharged from ur using the gen today

Edit: can see you didnt pour in the electrolyte.thats the cause.it shud work ok, once you pour it and start using it

Forget brand name and focus on spec/grade
20w 50 whether oando, mobil, total is same sh,it

you must have abused the gen, and being economical with the truth...your engine needs an overhaul, and based on the skill of the local repairmen, the gen will never be the same again.......compare cost of the overhaul vs buying a new gen...and make an informed decision


what kills gens
1. overloading the gen
2. not maintaining good oil change intervals
3. using fake/substandard oil
4. not replacing the oil after running for 10 to 20hrs on first use--when you bought the gen new.

I run my gen for 5-6hrs almost daily.
Use just a tv, two laptops, ceiling fan and charge phones.
I use total engine oil, change oil at the end of every month.

Anyways, piston n ring have been changed. Working well now, still have issue of changing plug every month( this has been like that from the first month I purchased my gen set )

Ok ,likely an issue of factory defect then.
Lastly, saying you use total oil is meaningless.always state the oil spec, thats what is useful. 20w 50, 10w 40.

Good day everyone

Please my Sumec 1800 Spg generator suddenly started giving cranking sounds like iron grinding against iron while working which makes the generator's sound output loud. I changed the oil yesterday but it didn't seem to change anything. I make use of Mobil engine oil 20W-50.

Please what could be wrong with it and how can it fixed?

P.s: It still works perfectly and powers my appliances but the sound it is giving off is a concern to me.
