There is effort for sake of being busy and the is effort for sake of having a desired effect. Voting for a mediocre candidate simply because the others are equally mediocre is merely effort for effort sake, it does not produce the desired result. It is like people constantly changing lanes in a traffic jam, you can think you are doing something but ultimately you are stuck in traffic and you will not go anywhere until the traffic eases. Have you changed lanes only to find the car behind you in lane you left is now ahead of you?
