MUNCHY1: Thank you. I contacted IRCC myself, since they weren't responding to my spouse's emails. I explained my current situation with a baby, studying alone and harsh experiences surviving covid alone with an infant also my baby having fever episodes due to teething with no one to help which really messed up my mental health and caused me depression. And i showed conversations and proofs. I share a more information on Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline thread. 1 Like |

Hi everyone. I've been reading through the thread from January 2022 and I can't seem to find anyone with similar circumstances. I don't have any family members in Canada but want to attend a (paid) conference in Montreal on July 29th for work. I submitted my application for a Visitor's Visa through the new portal on Monday, 23rd May. I've visited Canada on my previous visa a few years ago and my biometrics is still valid. I also have a valid US B1/B2 visa which I showed evidence of in my application. With the backlog and delays, does anyone know if my visa would be issued in time for the conference? From what I've read, there seems to be an expedited decision process (Can+)for those with valid US visas and/or previous Canadian visas. Does this apply in Nigeria? Please share your inputs. Thanks in advance. |

Hi guys, please my children and spouse are coming to join me in Canada with their visitor's visa. I am currently a student so they can go to school with their visitors visa. I am wondering what to do for them to be able to stay longer than the 6months validity period for a visitors visa. 2. Can anyone please help with recent landig gist on visitors visa? Do you need to print out bank statement? Do they ask to see POF? What other things should my spouse and kids expect when they land? Please help. |

purplish: Are you going for AIDS2022 In Montreal? If so, we could connect. Since you have submitted an application you have to wait. Nobody knows when a decision will be made on your application, they usually look at your travel date and you can contact MP to follow up for you, raise web forms send emails to expedite your application. You could benefit from can+ since you applied using the new portal. Cheers |

Pls, if someone is traveling from Nigeria (Naija passport) to Canada via US (Washington DC) would they require US transit visa? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Akupuncture: 5:36pm On May 28, 2022 |
pinkgems: Your hubby shouldn't tell them he's coming to stay or the kids will be going to school. Otherwise, they'll have issue with the border officers. Just say they're coming to visit you for the summer. Then when they get it, your hubby can LEGALLY apply for open work permit, and your kids can go to school. 2 Likes |

Hello all, If my brother was denied a Canada Visitor visa before he turned 18years does he need to state this in his current application? He is applying with my parents as a dependent. Thanks for your response. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 11:09pm On May 28, 2022 |
Berylstanz: Yes, in his application if he's asked about previous visa denial he needs to state it oo. They still have the record so better to be truthful |

did you do normal application or under the portal? If you applied normally you should consider reapplying under the portal. EmjaySimon: |

Good day elders, please I am new here. Please my husband just got an invitation for an exploratory visit to morden Manitoba. Please anyone with advise or guide on how we can proceed with the visa application. Please note: he is civil servant and no travel history. Thank you |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 5:18pm On May 29, 2022 |
Ummuarfan: Not having a travel history is not a prerequisite for applying for a VV, although it increases ones chances of getting an approval if the applicant has never violated the terms of previous visa(s). Read through the thread here for how to proceed and learn from people experience. You can also check the IRCC official website for more information on applying for a VV 2 Likes |

I just came across this thread, please do you have an idea of how soon it takes IRCC to process VVs ? Blessed451: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 9:17pm On May 29, 2022 |
mikeayus: Even the witches in the village cannot tell how long it takes to process a VV although the IRCC gives a general idea on processing times (depending on your country) on their website. Some people getting theirs processed faster whilst some takes a long time so it's difficult to answer, just make sure you package your application very well. Cheers 1 Like |

Please, i need guidance regarding visa application for my daughter. My family was approved of our Visa application (mine was study permit). However, i just had a baby in April and the school is billed to resume in September. My question... 1. Should i apply separately for my baby using the new portal since my previous application had been approved? 2. What supporting documents should i attach? 3. What is the best way to go about the application? Someone should kindly advise. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nobody: 9:30pm On May 30, 2022 |
Hommolarah: Congrats on the birth of your baby. You would need to contact IRCC notifying them of the birth of your baby, try to send them lots of messages until you hear from them, meanwhile what you can do now is to get a new international passport and a birth certificate for your newborn while you wait for further directive from the Canadian authorities. I am not too sure about starting a new application, but I know the IRCC should be aware of your situation so they can process to ur little ones visa much faster. hope others can give their inputs. Thanks. 2 Likes |

Hommolarah: Cheers to your little one. I had a similar experience as yours. My SP PPR came on Feb 2021 (i didn't inform IRCC about my pregnancy when i applied) my intake was for May 2021, my baby's due date was July 2021 and my spouse's OWP was not yet in process at that time. What i did was contacted my school and postponed to September 2021 intake stating my reason due to child birth. I gave birth and a month after i applied for his international passport and submitted a visiting visa application which was processed on the old portal. Also you will need to update everyone's file by uploading the family form (i can't remember the form's name) and report your newborn. When you submit your baby's Visiting Visa application few days or weeks after, send an emotional email and webform stating a good reason why you need your baby's application expedited, apart from emotions you need to state facts too and let your email subject be "URGENT" When i get home i can check the documents i uploaded for my baby. it's basically just your documents, his passport, birth certificate, vaccination card/ baby book, letter of intent, and a few addition funds 1 Like 1 Share |
