Basically, you can't have two VV application running sametime. They always cancel one to be able to treat the other.

No eligibility review just background check in progress. The kids VV and that of my spouse on the new portal is still active too. There was no mail to inform of the withdrawal. Please what can i do. In my experience i have seen this.
Should I mail IRCC?
Please i need quick response my people. My head get lots of thinking of what happened and whats the way forward.

Just like Shommyface said, they have started working on it, you can also send them a mail or webform to make inquiries.

Just keep the faith alive, because that’s all we have.
We are all in same shoes… I’ve walked in and out of depression.
What I do is, I keep telling myself that I’ll get the mail the following day.
If it doesn’t come, I’ll say oh, that means it’s coming tomorrow and so on.
Till it will come.
That way, I don’t dwell on the negative.
Just keep being positive.
I’m also always virtualizing myself with my husband in Canada, how he’ll pick me up at the airport, how we’ll be excited and how we will make love that night. Lol….
All these imaginations keeps me going….

It might not be the best way, but the idea is not to focus on the negative.
Be positive!
It will come!!!

If i tell you stay positive, It may and may not change anything. All i can encourage you is keep yourself busy to get your mind off your application.

And when you feel emotional pour it out in writing. My spouse wrote IRCC about my emotional stress several times they didn't respond, i wrote them also they didn't respond positively. Until i stated honest facts, emotional damage and mental damage its causing me that i needed to seek counsel from a doctor if all these was worth it and the bias going on, if it was fair to wait for over 372 days. I sent the email with proof as i was tired already, they responded to me within 48hrs and my spouse got approved for his Visitor Visa application, while his SOWP is still in progress.

There's a limit to what a person can take. You know how you feel, you know how it hurts, you know how it's affecting your health please pour it out in writing and be direct, state it to them with conversation proofs, the bias and how it's threatening your marriage, intimacy and injuries your children sustain because it's difficult taking care of 2 kids alone and having to argue all the time which is not healthy for your marriage and if studying/ traveling in Canada is really worth the pain. Mental health is real and damaging. Please stay safe and pour out your emotions, keep yourself busy and get your mind off your application. Just my honest opinion.

Hmmm I am surprised how IRCC is treating couples this way... it's not just fair.. living without someone we love so much and not knowing when the application will get approved affects mental health a lot.

Hi Everyone, I have been a silent follower of this thread and it’s nice to see the amount of information being shared on this platform. So my soon to be husband currently has a Canadian work permit, and we are trying to decide if we should apply for a SOWP for me or try to get a work permit for myself (which is also possible). The only problem is that getting a work permit for myself will result in us working in the same company in Canada, which I’m not a big fan of. So I wanted an open work permit so I can work somewhere else and have other options. However seeing the timelines for the SOWP is scaring me a lot as his work permit took just about 1+months but the SOWP is looking to be around 6months to a year. I just need some advise as to the best decision to make.

Below, I have attached some Indians PPR, and it's so sad that they have deliberately done this to we Nigerians. Well, it is not their fault if not for the stupid government and politicians that we have, who on earth would go to a place with -40degree temperature? I'm short of words and It really frustrating that it makes me think if this Ph.D. from Canada really worth it.

My people if you want to apply for a study permit together with spousal open work permit. Be ready to provide funds for your entire stay NOT THE ONE YEAR that is on their website o

Many have been waiting for three to five years with no response. Many have fallen in love with others while waiting. It is even worse for separated refugees and protected persons.

I heard of someone who eventually got answered after about 4 years and his spouse came to pick him up at the airport with "Big Belle"
