Me: I'm good. Is there a problem sir?(I refuse to ask him which bank he's calling from)

Scammer: Did you recieve a message earlier this month to activate your atm?

Me: No sir, Why do you ask?

Scammer: I'm sorry to tell you, but your atm has been blocked just now because of that. But we can unblock it for you. Are you with the atm over there?

Me: Give me a minute......I'm with it now.

Scammer: What's the expiry date on the atm?

Me: 02/24

Scammer: There is a reactivation code just above the expiry date. Please read it out slowly so we can unblock it for you.

Me: ok...5..0..6...1

Scammer: go ahead..

Me: 4..1...9...God punish you, thunder fire you, idiot..

Werey gave me a number to call & I forwarded all the problem of my life & my account number to him & the other contact. Na so werey lock up

Sure, happened to me almost five times. I rain insults plus cursing join before I block them

A senior colleague of mine was called and he simply told them it was a mortuary line. The guy ended the call immediately.

Back then in 2007, someone called me with a UK number, immediately he asked if I knew who was talking, then I knew he was a scammer.
Scammer: Hello, do you know who is speaking?
Me: No, I don’t sir. I hope this is not Uncle Tokunbo
Scammer: Yes, aburo it’s me
Me: Ah, uncle this is unfair o, you couldn’t even call or pass your condolence after daddy’s death
Scammer: Am so sorry, I have been busy, Aunty mi nko?
Me: She is fine but not even happy with you
Scammer: Don’t worry, I called to make up for everything. I have sent you some electronics, computer, wears, shoes and some money for everyone but I sent you 1000pounds separately. It’s inside the Nike shoe of size 44. The 2000pounds will be handed over to you for my sister and others.
Me: Thank you very much uncle. So how and where will I receive it?
Scammer: I sent it through an agency, you will have to clear it from them. I hope you have some money on you, if you don’t raise it anyhow and you will refund it when you get the 1k.
Me: I have my school fees with me which is 22k and I want to go and pay it this afternoon. (On hearing that, the werey quickly interrupted)
Scammer: No no no don’t go to the bank to pay the school fees, use the money to clear those goods so as to avoid demurrage (I no know whether na container I wan go clear)
Me: Ok no problem, where will I send it to?
Scammer: I will send your number to the agent, he will call you now.
Na so I laff for my mind say, una don buy market today. Waiting for the other mad man to call me
Scammer 2: Helloooooo(strong dialect in his English) is this so so so from so so so.
He narrated everything I need to do and where to send it with instructions that I should go now and not discuss with anyone. He emphasized it should be kept in secrecy. Werey wey dey disguise
Me: Okay sir, I will be on my way but the issue now is that I don’t have any money on me to take bike to atm to withdraw and pay.
Scammer 2: Borrow money from your colleague or hall mate or people you buy things from
Me: (this man mad gan o) Everyone had gone for semester break. If you can send card to me, I can sell it to raise money.
Scammer 2: 500 should be enough for you na
Me : yes, but they only buy mtn so if you send 750, they will buy for 600
Scammer 2: okay hold on for some minutes. Make sure you don’t tell anyone about it
The werey eventually send the card, I sold it and called my friends in that we should drink palm wine with the werey money.
After 1hr, he called me, I told him I am inside the bank. He called again around past 3, I still told him am in the bank that network has been down. At few mins to 4pm both scammers kept calling one after the other, I maintained my stand that am still in the bank, knowing fully well the bank will close by 4pm they pleaded I should ensure the money is sent.
At around past 5pm, they said they haven’t received alert, scammer 1 lost control forgetting his identity. I told them am still inside the bank but the cashier had collected the money from me but am waiting for it to be posted.
They werey people called me around 8pm that they haven’t seen it, I told them I am still in the bank. Omo see para, see swear na so I laff say egbon eti ya werey.

The same thing happened to my colleague at work on Wednesday, the guy spoke with the woman to send her account number,they sent her a code which was requested back from her, but gave them the wrong code...looking and behold they debited this woman 2k instantly..it was just like a dream that...the most funniest part of the story is that the number is still going through after they have debited her..the guy told her to calm down that they are testing her account..

I received same call last week but the guy know say him missed road.

Scammer hack my IG account and put pictures of oyinbo man his dogs and children I got their number and called them lol and behold oyinbo is speaking English I tried to tell them to give me my account back but the werey is telling me to pay 10k I insulted him and block him

Dem scam me through 2go bk in 2010.. ur 2go account has won 600k,call dis number to claim ur win. naso those guy take collect my 11k through recharge card.

So, as a sharp person, I knew it was a scam and I wanted to have some fun

I told him that I'm so broke, that I'd love to do the 50K own, Dude was so happy, dude even prayed for me, he said "I PRAY ALMIGHTY GOD REFILLS & RESTORES WHEREVER THIS MONEY IS COMING FROM WITH PLENTY MONEY" (See as Scammer oo dey whine me with fake prayers)

Omo, naso I laugh for my mind oo as I continue chatting with him, I told him that he should give me small time, (This was to make everything look real to him)

So like after 1-2 hours, I Messaged him that I've sent 50K, he said I should give him few minutes maybe network is delaying it from arriving in his phone, dude waited and didn't see anything

He asked me to send screenshot, I told him "OK" that he should wait, I quickly tore a shit of paper from my hard cover note book and wrote and all those stuffs that usually appear on a debit/credit alerts messages even drew something like UBA bank's LEO and snapped it with my phone and sent it to him, Omo my nigga para oo I just sent him "TFU" meaning Thunder Fire You and Blocked him immediately, the thing pain am ehnn

Till today, I still have that paper incase I encounter same scam format but it seems the format is no more Paying because dem never reach my side again

Yeah, I have but not annoying them per say, I was not home when the call came in and I told them to please call me back in 5 Mims time as I was having a hair cut, that I will get every necessary info and my ATM card ready by then while feigning a call out to someone to check the shelf for my ATM card. They did and I was sounding like all these local uninformed people giving them false info from my head and I was also delaying them by acting as if I was not getting what they were saying to make them use much airtime, after giving out info, I was told to wait for a PIN which will be sent to me and I was thanikg them profusely that I have been having issue and had no chance yet to visit the bank.. I called them back later to tell them I have not seen the PIN and they showered themselves with curse and I sent them sms to advice them amd give my own dose of curses.

For Facebook people, I always play along replying their messages and tell them I want to invest like 500k so I can get 1m returns, screenshot the chat, paste it on their wall to warn others and next thing they will curse me in my DM and block me.

Me I will just go to old bank message, edit and send. If he says I should send screenshots, I tell him no, if he can't take that one, he should forget it.

Yeah, but i was smarter than them, telling me that my ATM card needs to be activated that bla bla bla, they gonna block me from my bank headquarters in Marina, Lagos. That code behind my card is what he needs to activate it to function properly. I ask him who is he.
The scammer introduced himself a staff of the bank, with a Yoruba name with bad accent as customer care, I was wondering a bank could recruit somebody with such bad accent as customer care staff, he even mention my name &address, etc. I told him i renewed my ATM recently, activated it &I have been using it without issues. We engaged in serious arguments, I abused him, Na him airtime him use so I wasn't bothered.

But Omo fear catch me o :othis was few minutes to 4 o'clock, where I was I could not rush down to the bank to block my acaunt in case he wanna do anything funny with ma cash, after mentioning my personal data.

The following morning I was already @the bank infact 7am knak me for bank to report the matter to customer care, but had to wait till 8am for them to open for the day's business.
They did the needful, my mind became calm.

The other was a text from a scammer for Covid 19 funds disburtment, I personally called to blast him. Dem dey avoid me now.

My only problem is that she thinks the scammer is Igbo. I mean he could be Igbo or her own Yoruba brother.

One chatted me up with the account of a friend they took over and even changed profile (the audacity). He thought I was one of those guys that will go gaga once they hear a woman will come to visit them

He told me-pretending to be a she, that he recently lost his phone in Keke when he was on his way back home. That he needed money to buy a new one. He said if I help him out that he'll come over to my place to make me feel alright

I played along. I told him I'll have to do transfer to him since my nature of work doesn't allow me to step out - - - that's no chance to go to the bank. I told him that the problem I had was that I don't have enough data to power my mobile app. I told him to recharge 5h naira card for me so that I can subscribe and login to transfer the money

Werey asked for my number and sent me card o through mobile transfer. Prior to that, he told me he was using his brother's phone since he lost his only phone

I was like this scammers still dey learn work. You lost your only phone but you had a phone to do mobile transfer. How?

I blocked him straight away

How did Omo Ibo enter into this discussion?

When they call and I figure them out... I politely say "hold a minute please?"... and mute the call. If after a while they're still there... I apologize and repeat the process.
