Reading comments regarding Betty Akeredolu saga with her race to the Senatorial seat in Imo State. Many Igbos keep telling her to contest in her husband’s state.
My question is will the Igbos allow a Yoruba wife of an Igbo man seek elective positions in Igboland?

Grace Jackson did that in Adamawa and won, but the truth is that once a woman is married, there are something's she should don't even try...
Southerns won't allow that. It's only in North it maybe possible.

Continue deceiving yourself.

It's only Yorubas that seek Igbo women for marriage not the other way round.

Igbo guys in SW fvck Yoruba girls after dating them only to come home and pick a wife from his village or neighbouring town.

Igbomen marry Igbo women or at worst non Igbos from Delta or Edo States.

Stella Odua is married to an Edo man and she is currently a Senator representing Anambra.

Iyom Josephine Annieh is married to a Bini man and she was a Minister with Anambra slot.

Betty Akeredolu is a current First Lady and also wants to be Senator.

We don't allow that nonsense in Igbo land. When she finish her tenure as First Lady, she can then try again.

Story didn't change anything. Betty is new to Imo Politics. The best she would have done was to tell her husband to put a call across Gov Hope Uzodinma to help secure House of Representatives ticket on her behalf. By so doing, she will consolidate her ground to seek higher electoral seat after 4 or 8 years as Rep Member. I'm not against her seeking election in her state of origin. She has right to contest in Ondo State too as she's now a Yoruba woman.

You no get talk. Being a First lady wasn't the issue. APC had already struck a concensus deal even before she declared interest to run. She wants to disrupt the arrangement with her ambition. Betty should have started with House of Representatives after which she might have consolidated her footing in Imo Politics.

This question will only demand an answer if Igbo men found Yaribaa women appealing enough to marry in the first place (with few notable exceptions of course), an Igbo man will always marry from Rivers, Delta, Calabar/Akwa Ibom areas...even Hausa sef before he finds a Yaribaa woman good enough to bring home to his family.

Most Igbo with Yoruba wives hardly base in SouthEast and their wives don't like coming home. Nobody stops few ones in Igboland not to contest in their husbands Constituency. I know of one lady, Adeola from Osun married to a Ihiala guy from Anambra. She wants to contest House of Assembly Seat before her husband beckoned on her that it would be a waste of time if she contests with an unknown party (ADC). Igbos are the least tribalistic in Nigeria, at least not to Yorubas.

Just few ones I knew of in Ibadan, Akure and Lagos. Even Yoruba guys prefer Igbo ladies to their tribe ladies. Yoruba ladies are humble and respectful but they're not appealing, attractive and beautiful than Igbo and that's where their misfortune lies. Men are moved by sight first before character and respect. If not for natural gift of having butts and curves, it would have been worst for Yoruba girls.

Tribalistic in which way?? Don't mention their rift with Hausa-Fulani because Northerners can't be burning and threatening Igbo businesses in the North and expect their people to be walking freely in SouthEast. It doesn't work like that because they respect an eye for an eye more than peace.

True, she even gave Imo indigenes slots in Ondo civil service but now she is not good enough to serve the Igbos in igboland.
