US is reliant on China, and China is reliant on the USA....and a war between the two, will end up with both sides losing, regardless of who controls or runs Taiwan. So it is in neither's interest...for now. 1 Like |

Mangekyo: Sit this out if you are not in the know. US policy has never supported full independence of Taiwan. At the same time, US has never supported China annexing Taiwan. If China does, the US will provide the military capabilities for Taiwan to defend itself. 2 Likes 1 Share |

MT:What sort of military capabilities? The sort that China doesn't possess? Do you understand the intimidating credentials of The Great PLA? You don't! Apart from economic sanctions like the sort unleashed on Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, The Americans can't do anything that The Chinese can't handle.. Some countries have passed the stage where Americas military propaganda rattles them anymore.. |

China has long made it clear that Taiwan is hers period. The US has already tried to find out how serious they were by sending an Aircraft Carrier to Taiwan to 'show support for Taiwan'. The carrier was quickly targeted by Chinese Air Force and forced to retreat. There is no discussion with regards to Taiwan. |

DOTian: You have watched too many Hollywood movies. If the Chinese govt feels that they have what it takes, they would have annexed Taiwan. It's the fear of the United States that is keeping them on the leash. Do you even know the military hardware in the possession of the US. China and Russia are doing catching up. Do you have an idea of the annual military budget of the US? if you add the military budget of Russia, China , UK, Germany, Japan and other 5 countries next on the biggest military spending, it's not up to the budget of the US. Know the beast you are toying with. If you don't, China understands. Golan007:Taiwan is different from Biafra. Taiwan is already developing as a different political entity from China. Taiwan is like the Western worlds bulwark against a surging China in the region. Taiwan has lots of very important tech factories necessary to the Western worlds military establishments. Taiwan is totally a democratic state with much more western values when compared to mainland China... Etc.. The scenerios are different even if the anti Biafra bug in your disoriented brain refuses to allow you understand this.. 1 Like |

DOTian: Ok. Biafra is backward and certainly undemocratic. Unscientific, high exporter of narcotics and for this reason USA would be much delighted to dash her recognition. 1 Like

This confused and broke country don start again They should start first by differentiating the difference between a male and female. That should be top of their priority followed by racism and gun violence Instead of poke nosing in other countries Mattet |

Now that's an intelligent and diplomatic statement from USA...China is looking for basis to attack Taiwan but I trust USA they are making sure that if China attacks Taiwan in an unfair ground, they will have reasons to defend Taiwan and gain the support of the rest civilized and sane world.. Quote "this is not a change in policy meaning we are still obliged to defend Taiwan from any invader(former pact)" So its left for the citizens of Taiwan to decide their fate whether to declare Taiwan a formal independent state or rejoin China. Nice one the great USA. 1 Like 1 Share |
