I understand now....
Agric budget should increase to help the farmers.
Like me now, I'm planning to go into rice farming by end of the year.....

And you want government to open land borders for rice.

Agric budget won't help any farmers.

What we need is a law to be passed on all commercial banks to fill up an approved quota for soft loans to registered farmers with proper documentation, insurance and possible marketing.

Even now when I asked yesterday a bag of unprocessed rice is now at 27k dropping from 30k last year...
One thing I understand about Nigeria is, nothing goes up and come down again, that principle doesn't apply here, so whether the government open boarders or not the price won't come down

currently it won't, soon it will, there is global grain shortage,
Moreover why would you want rice coming down since you want to go into it.

In production, you have to consider land, effort, type of grain plus other variables, so why should it come down, if the variables don't favor it coming down.

Just a wishful thinking before I go into farming
Just a break from high cost of goods nothing more
