I subscribe to your view. I said the same to some folks yesterday. If it turns out this way though, then Wike will have the last laugh in PDP.

Lol.

I see Wike working against Atiku except he’s made the running mate which is highly unlikely.

You can’t pair two powerful men like that. Plus the ticket will be highly unpopular.

Nigerians will see them as two crooks.

absolutely right but if tinubu get ticket, Atiku will be president.

If Tinubu gets the ticket, Atiku would win by noonday.

But anything is possible sha.

I agree with this analysis. The only way Atiku wins now is if Buhari does something stupid and picks an unpopular candidate. That now seems unlikely. If Osinbajo gets the ticket, he will defeat Atiku.

Exactly. If Osinbajo gets the ticket, he’d be candidate of the south. Apologies to Peter Obi. But Osinbajo as APC candidate will sweep Southwest votes, garner votes from SS and SE and the north, with Buhari support.

Amaechi is another candidate who can equally defeat Atiku if Buhari picks him.

Broh, it's too early to conclude. Tinubu I know would want to go for Muslim-Muslim ticket and it will cost APC victory. As things are now, he stands at the better chance of clinching the ticket. All the odds might be against Tinubu. Atiku will beat Tinubu hads down. Just watch out, unless Osibanjo gets the ticket.

Yea, I know. That’s why I was specific about Osinbajo.

No matter how you wanna think about it, I don’t see the northern oligarchs allowing Tinubu take power.

Look at his utterances without power, imagine what he would do when he gets power.

We have not even started talking about the baggages he carries.

APC’s best bet is Osinbajo.

Their second best bet is Amaechi.

You really don't know the North. They always vote their own and they will never stop. Now that you are even contemplating a southern Christian flying the APC presidential flag, coupled with the sharp ethnic and religious divisions is the country right now, tell me what the Northern APC leaders will tell Northern voters to counter what Northern PDP leaders will sell to them about Atiku. This smells like a grand design by the Northern Oligarchs to retain power through alternative means (Atiku) . For them, there is no PDP or APC at the federal level. It is just Northern Interest.

NB: They may even already have their eyes on 2031 election so that they will justify zoning it to the North then.

The north consistently voted their own in 2003, 2007 and 2011 without success until the south(west) helped them in 2015.

The north alone cannot win the presidency.

The idea is not for Osinbajo, for instance, to win the north, but to get considerable votes from there and then win majority of Southern states. Also remember that some North Central states always follows the southern voting pattern.

Or how was Jonathan able to defeat Buhari in 2011?

This is what PDP governors and the party itself supposed to have done, zone their presidency to the south especially south east considering their consistency in voting for PDP.

They want to win by all means, no moral justification whatsoever, the same party that want to unite Nigeria o, me i know nothing good is gonna come out from the useless party. And they will lose woefully come next year.

I think Atiku is really not destined to rule Nigeria.

Because with the entire northern governors and critical northern stakeholders in APC, agreeing to zone the presidency to the south, they are going to campaign with that to their people and influence their votes to a great extent.

Now, if at the end, Osinbajo gets the ticket, like it’s looking like, then that’s the entire Southwest votes and considerable votes from other southern regions too since Osinbajo is an inspiring candidate.

PDP swam against the tide.

And what seemed to be a strategic masterstroke about a week ago, now looks like a grave mistake.

Take it from me that Atiku will not be president especially if Osinbajo gets the ticket.

You don't know the North and their politics. They are very practical at Arewaism.

They may ceed APC ticket to the South and then let the southerner waste his time and resources in the North. Their talakawas can't abandon their own for a southern kuffar except both tickets has southerners as we saw in 1999 when they had to choose OBJ whom they very knew well.

When tinubu or osninbanjo loses in the main elections (in the event he is selected as flag bearer) the APC hajis will tell him 'Well you can't complain, we gave you the ticket as agreed, but nigerians wanted somebody else'.

Peter Obi that will be dragging 4th position with Kwankwaso grin
don't mind them, if by Wednesday next Osinbajo wins APC , my allegiance switches from Peter Obi to Osinbajo straight. PO is good quite alright but too much frugality and strictness and inflexibility is not allowed in the corridor of power. You have got to be both firm, flexible and nice. Osinbajo is sociable, relatable on diverse areas of life expected of a president. PO is majorly on governance. And we don't just want a man that will talk about savings money for Nigeria alone. We have all the sectors to the least like entertainment to be touched. But if at all, power does not go the Osinbajo, then Peter Obi is next option and far better than Atiku

Well, it depends on the version of Wike that we are having now. If it is the Wike that stayed loyal to the party even when others defected, then no problem, but if it is the Wike that is bitter due to his loss at the primary, then there's fire on the mountain. Loyal Wike or bitter Wike, Atiku's fate is hanging between the two.

Who were the candidates for general elections in 2003, and 2011, and who won?

In 2003, there was Obasanjo in PDP and Buhari ANPP. The (core)north voted en masse for Buhari but Obasanjo won.

In 2011, there was Jonathan in PDP and Buhari in CPC. The (core)north repeated their voting pattern but Jonathan won.

Will northerners work against a southern candidate? Likely.

Will that cause the southerner to lose? Not really.

The north alone cannot make anyone president. They need the south. So what matters is for the southern candidate to win heavily in the south and get considerable votes in the north and he’s good to go.

So, don’t worry about northern treachery.

Irrespective of which version of Wike it is, do you see Southern youths throwing their weight behind their ticket like they did because of Obi?

Can you compare what is in the head of the two men?

Where in the south do you think Wike can win right now?

You are a poor analyst. With Atiku in the saddle, no candidate from APC can defeat him because of the clout and popularity he built around himself.

For sure,Atiku has won the Presidency before noon day on election day February 2023. No effective competitor from APC outside Tinubu. I stand to be challenged!
