Congratulations to me!
I just upgraded from a 2005 Lexus ES330 to a 2009 ES350.
I had to wait almost 3 months after paying for shipping and clearing, waited cos I needed a neat car without issues cos lagos dealers are never genuine and trust me the wait was worth it
Its neat, first body, accident free, Korean Spec and fullest option too , I'm just the second user
Below are photos of the car in S. Korea before shipping and in lagos after clearing.

That's a clean car. Congrats.

I need help… whilst on the motion this morning, my car suddenly stop selecting gear(R, N, D)
My 2008 Lexus ES350 won’t move.
It doesn’t matter if I put it in drive, neutral or reverse.
The engine revs up in each gear..��

Switching off the ignition and ON it back to move(D) for some minutes which it will jerk forward , vibrates too and then stop selecting and the engine revs.

I NEED HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

Did you do any work on the car recently? Did you top up the gear oil? Why sudden gear issues?

Sometimes last week, I left my car with guys who do repacks at my work place, they called to say my gear won’t go to P it stayed at D, and didn’t select R, P N… it was a i minor issue, they said a plastic clip that holds the gear stuff removed.

I hope it’s the same issue u are experiencing

My Lexus es350 2008 steering keep falling off when I’m in motion

How can I solve this permanently pls
Imagine carrying fine babe and gisting
And suddenly the steering broke and fall off
And I have to manage it to the Mech
Na why I no dey even carry anybody for my car again grin

Don’t panic, PLEASE SCAN

A junior brother of mine bought a tokunbo ES 350 lately. It happens that the car has no check engine light before purchases.(maybe they erased it)

But on usage he found out car rev HIGH before changing gears. Thank goodness the check engine light came on and after scanning, he found out it is a sensor in the gear itself. (Transmission temperature sensor or so.)

After fixing the sensor, his car came back to normal. I will attach picture of the sensor.

In your own case, you need to start from the minimal, before spending anything PLEAEE SCAN.

That way you are one step ahead.

DONT PANIC.

Try buying a pocket scanner…

Thank you, Chief... I panic ooo...sigh.
I was even speeding at that moment.
Then I noticed say my car no dey move well with my foot on the gas, applying pressure, e no move well...

I have this pocket scanner, I scanned but nothing related with transmission...

I'm changing the Gear Oil as suggested by an expert here and my Gear mecho, I'm picking it up by evening.
I'm hoping and praying it gets back to normal...

No major work on the car recently. .

The Gear Oil was replaced sometime last year

My Oga, I don pick the car, I wish I can get that type of scanner that could scan transmission issue...
I only have this pocket scanner OBD2 scanner(red)

By the way,
The transmission oil was replaced.

Car has been fixed, which I'm not currently impressed with the performance.
My observation...
(1) Immediately after I drove the car(engage in D), I noticed the car was sluggish... Struggling, not smart at all...

I went to the highway, this is my car and it is part of me... I noticed my car wasn't flying the way it normally does.... Lol abt the flying..... But you know as Lexus dey move na

(2) I went back to the town, and tried engaging the Gear R(reverse), as it was reversing I noticed, it stopped for 2seconds(yes 2), and the car revved high without moving, I immediately engaged the Gear (P) in Park changed it to R(reverse) it was fine....that actually gave me headache and I panic, for real man!
Did that (reverse)10times in a city drive of 1hr, and it was fine.....

(3). Another observation I noticed is car Jerks, no be frequently sha, I won't say repeatedly or continually but e sha dey dey do am...
.

About the sluggish, the steering is kinda hard to turn at some places, most particularly when the odometer is nearly at zero..
I may be wrong about this; having the car slow(that's what my mecho call it ) reduced will cause the car to struggle when you're about to start moving/driving...
I will attach a picture.

The second photo, I'm nearing 4 here and it feels like I'm moving from 1 to 2

Lastly, I will test the GEAR S(sport feature tomorrow )
I'll see if the car moves swiftly

1. Toyota , I’ll check later for the full name
2. No, it did not enter water
3. No, I did not wash the engine
4. Top the engine oil, no
The gear oil, No I did not(well, I wasn’t there when he was fixing it)

5. The Cv joint, I think I did sometimes in February.
I’m not sure tbh

Good option but the 2008 that i drive dey sha chop fuel and I'm not going to lie, e dey pain me.

There's no premium fuel in Nigeria.
