When you Edo voted for Obaseki against APC Iyamu, did they not count your votes?
I didnt vote and i think edolites wanted to show something important

"Edo no be Lagos"

I was part of the people that voted numerously 4 osho...i did some regrettable things and i stopped and never wanted to be associated with voting anymore.

Do Nigerians have that oneness to stand together without betrayals??

I am OBIdient presently cos i realised that not voting is voting in disguise.

I just hope it counts

At the bolded, I keep asking, do you think there is anyone with the means to japa that has not done that? If you check it well, you see that the vast majority of people who japa are those from rich families, those who have rich relatives who sponsor them abroad or who are already there themselves and are willing to help or parents who can cater or sponsor their kids abroad.

Then you ask yourself; how many Nigerians have these privilege? In a country of 200 million, how realistic is it to be shouting japa? And the. Apart from shouting the japa, you also shout, nigeria has no hope? That's not constructive criticism? That's just rant. At the end of the day only 10 percent of the population can afford to japa.

Have you even thought of the situation where the countries reject those that can afford to go there? Last 2 years, my man Trump banned nigerians and 5 other countries from entering USA. What do you say to that?

Of course to japa is good, but at the end, they say no place like home, so in essence you are saying, all of us should give up hope of Nigeria ever being good? And might i even add, nigeria does have her problems, but is it as bad as Ukraine or Vietnam or or Congo? Some countries have it worse, we are blessed and cursed. Blessed with resources, cursed with bad leadership. We just need to sort our leadership problem.
I agree with this...10/10
But my man if you get chance try Japa, your grandchildren will bless you one day...My popsi told me how he get chance to comot before, but he didn't due to the fact that his marriage was not up to 2 years and my Mum was pregnant with their first child...that was some years ago when things were not half as bad as this, if na now he tell me i sure say we go fight...

Peter Obi left PDP because Atiku took the VP slot off the table

And Atiku did that because he knew that he wouldn't get bloc votes from the SE

You know why? Kanu and Ekpa would not let elections hold. It would be unfruitful to him having Obi as a VP

I was just letting Grif.fon know that South East PDP has always voted for a Northern Candidate, except President Obasanjo. If every region support his own, maybe the borne to rule people will begin to take Southern Nigeria serious on political matters....

So killings are okay as long as the criminals are caught.

I did not stop anyone from venting or expressing their frustration, I am not the cause of you not being able to properly interprete a simple statement that has no political undertone.

The killer been caught doesn't justify the killing or bring back the lost soul but it's gonna surely serve as lesson to others with intention to commit such crimes in the future and also justice to the bereaved

Now Gideon akaluka was killed by mob sometimes ago cos of an alleged blasphemy now if justice had been melted out then and the perpetrator were been arrested and prosecuted, then we won't have Deborah; you see one thing developed countries use to take cognisance of; is to just give justice and persecute offenders they're not prosecuting for prosecuting sake they're doing this to prevent further occurrence; if justice are not been served in a community it gives rise for more crime.

Oga I am angry at the situation of Nigeria. I am indeed very angry about it.
I am a salary earning civil servant in my late thirties.

I do not see a pathway to moving to another country because I am too old for that and I have family members who depend on me.
Shouting at me to japa after every disaster is truly insulting to me. I choose to be optimistic that things will eventually get better. Maybe once the cabal in Nigeria dies off or the young people wake up, then things will indeed get better but for you to be shouting japa at me everytime there is a disaster here when I know I am stuck in this country is indeed insulting to me.
You should also advocate for us to get it right with our leadership or lend opinions that gear towards solving the problem not just to shout japa at a civil servant like me.
I am also a civil servant, in south east sha and I am in my early 20s, I plan on quitting, this job is not for me abeg, na woman the job fit.

I have wasted 2yrs and 5 months, I am currently learning some programming language, August I am quitting, planning on relocating to Lagos to go stay with my tech bro (8 yrs experience) hopefully he will put me through.

Civil service is trash and I dont think any man should plan on staying there

You said it yourself.

You're a father of 3 on 128k monthly salary. I don't mean to be insensitive so I will try to pick my words carefully.

I cannot imagine the struggle, but I can recognise and empathise with you. I cannot in all good conscience though ever insinuate that there is hope for Nigera, as there is none.

Inflation will continue to eat at your income, and as you're a career civil servant, you are unlikely to easily transition to private sector in Nigeria. You are now at the mercy of your governor assuming you're a state civil servant, or whoever it is at federal level.

It's salary and pension they are using to pay delegates and campaign over the next few months.

I'm sorry if you feel insulted by the japa talk, but if you think it's going to get better, then who knows.

I will leave the subject now out of respect for your post. I wish you all thr beat though.

Make una try dey understanding. That salary is actually high up the salary scale on civil servant banding meaning he is doing well within the constraints of his environment. It should serve as motivation for the younger ones to Japa. If I'm onyemaair, I won't lie, you should be advising me to loot wotoporiously

Seriously I don't see why this discussion is being overstretched.

Everybody knows that living in foreign countries especially the rich one's like America or UK is better than living in Nigeria.
However, coming here to shout japa truly is insulting to the ordinary Nigerian. How many people in Nigeria can afford to japa? Do you think there are people in Nigeria who can afford to japa but choose to stay in Nigeria? More important is this really the right time to talk about it?
Many people Just died, you start shouting JAPA, as if there are fools here that can japa but would not. As if it's very easy to. It just looks to me like arrogance or foolishness. Arrogance on the people who are already there and now shouting japa and foolishness on the person who is actually here in nigeria, can't move out, at least not yet and then is shouting japa just when lives are lost. It's somehow.

I’ll love to know your metrics for determining this on this thread

Blessed with resources, cursed with bad leadership. We just need to sort our leadership problem.

The first embolden is farther from the truth as evidenced by the numerous Nigerians who have Grass to Grace stories after Japa. Stories are abound of people who had absolutely nothing but fought their way through all kinds of hardship and made it out of Nigeria. I addressed this in one of my previous post, you can look through my posts to see my thoughts. For many getting outside Nigeria is not a destination. For some, it is one country at a time until they get to their destination. While a lack of resource, financial in most aspects can be a hindrance, it can also become a COMFORT ZONE that can be used to excuse certain situations. Whenever you are chanced, drive your way to the US embassy and see young guys trying to hustle their way out. I am not saying everyone will get out but please stop saying ONLY THE RICH/ COMFORTABLE are making it out of Nigeria because that is absolutely false and a COMFORT ZONE narrative.

Honestly, I am troubled reading your 2nd embolden because it is either you are not living in Nigeria or have a false perception of what is going on. Show me anything that remotely mirrors any sense of hope for young Nigerians who are watching their prime years dissipate in front of them. Should they continue to wait and hope until they turn 45 and in regret hate everything about life? If you are not trying doesn't mean others should not try or stop trying because one person failed or they failed. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE! The situation in Nigeria is as obvious as it gets and changing the rot that has eaten the country is not going to be fixed overnight. Look around you what do you see? When you look at the children around you, what do you see? Please be real.

If you are comfortable with your situation please enjoy it and with hope, you will "blow", otherwise, allow people get out of their COMFORT ZONES and pursue personal desires/ ambitions.

As for your last embolden, this is all I have to say "NO COMMENT"

The five Eastern State voted for Atiku a Fulani man as PDP candidate ahead of Wike and Anyim, peter Obi left PDP cos he new his people will rather vote Atiku a Fulani than vote for him. Ojukwu contested in 2003 under Apga, how many vote did he get in the entire South East? Yoruba have two formidable candidate, but you expect them to vote Peter Obi grin. Charity they say begins at home, until the South East stop voting for a Northern Candidate, they shouldn't complain of not being given a chance....

That’s party politicking, it has nothing to do with my point.

You don’t expect those buffalos who are the State Governors in the East to go for Obi whom they won’t benefit shishi from.

The APC primary is the aberration here, not the election result.

That APC primary was a joke. They wrote millions of votes for Buhari in the primary so when the election comes and he gets millions, no one will claim wuruwuru. In writing millions for Buhari, they had to give hundreds of thousands to the rest. When did millions of people start voting in primary?
