Days where we trekked to school.
Days we look forward to four o clock on nta stations for cartoon programs
Days we compete in dressing during festival periods
Days we go to fetch water with buckets on our heads.
Days we don't have tarred street so playing was fun and less risky to injuries
Days we can walk without fear of kidnapping
Days we can fill our pockets with coins to buy candies and lollipops.

Oh how much I miss those days

As adults now, we just have to find ways of making enough money to pay our bills. One sure way I know is to learn a high-income skill like forex trading, cryptos trading, copywriting, affiliate marketing, etc.

By so doing, we can recreate the good old days...

My Adulthood is better than my childhood. Wetin my eyes see no be small.... Thats why in this adulthood, I am trying everything to stay out trouble and life stress.

Me I don't enjoy my childhood to adult hood, I have to struggle from primary school to see myself through secondary School from one menial Job to another, tap palm wine, farm work as labourer, from there i did my diploma through with the same method, after diploma struggle to gather money for complete nine(9)years before I can be able to save small Money to start my National Diploma (HND) to finish 2015 and nysc 2016, still struggling no work till now. Still doing security work as a graduate. It pain me as I am typing this. You see the irony of Life ? Because I have registered with almost all the out sourcing/agent in lagos, they will post you to eatry,supper market, that they can not pay more than 15-20k as a salary. After collected your registration fee they will forget about you.

I don't just know why I hate the song, or maybe cos I don't think adulthood is scam.

Really, I just can't relate to how adulthood is scam or how I would prefer childhood to adulthood.

Well, different strokes for different folks.

Not all of us can relate, that is not to say I did not miss childhood, my childhood was mostly sit one place, chop, sleep, go to school(never had pocket money or even take water to school not to talk of food) , come back stay indoor and while indoor nothing to play with as watching TV was a taboo, going out to play with friends was a taboo, even Christmas was mostly spent indoors except on the rare occasions we are to visit our uncle under strict laws of no misbehaving, its either you are with your book or just stay put in one place deep in your own thoughts... I think myself and elder sister had the most unassuming childhood, it was still okay for my younger siblings. Most of the things I enjoyed as a child were moetly done secretly while others just do it without looking back if they will be caught.

I get your point, but childhood still comes with the entirety of a carefree attitude which adulthood can never guarantee you, with all the money, you still have to think of the next few months over unforeseen circumstances.

That *carefree attitude* is the edge childhood has over adulthood with all the plenty money.

Now, I better understand your issues with your folks. Compared to my childhood, this was prison and bondage.

They were never and are not, they are just disciplinarians and religious folks who thought all those restrictions will make their children turn out well. I remember when you said a family had a total control of their childrens' lives, how they moved abroad to school, got a job and also took other decisions for them. Same with mine but they only take final decisions from their numerous Pastors and prophets which you must not go against. Reason why when I explain to those people he reports me to, they always support me cos they know they(my parents) went extreme with everything. I have not spoken with my elder sister for more than two years, I don't even know her true condition. Me,I sha dey manage myself to get better even if they won't stop disturbing me.

No, that wasn't the case with my classmate's parents. They had a solid plan for each child but they were more like guidance & counsellor teachers to their children.

They didn't have total control of their kids lives or take decisions for them, Theresa (my classmate) had a wonderful upbringing and early exposure to the finer things of life and she was allowed to play, mingle with others, watch TV etc.

I get you, I just wanted to relate it to it, that was what they had in mind but they themselves are not exposed as they were new in Lagos due to the job posting, but have a relative amount of success, and they are used to all these spiritual consultations which they believe made them successful, but he was a government employee with good pay even with his secondary school certificate(he does not drink, smoke or womanise in fact you can tell his routine everyday if you know him for just a week) but wasted so much money on Pastors and prophets , so he restricted his children so as not to be harmed and to protect thier glory according to prophecy.

Now imagine him not going to work for about 8 years due to an accident he had on the line of duty but still got paid, he literally stopped us from doing so many things and all my teenage years and that of my elder sister into adulthood were under strict protection. We lost ground with realities as there was no strong relationship with the outside world for real time information and only had my certificate for show, with no major skills added because you don't even have money to run things even if you have the right info.

To me those prophets are not to be blamed but those who run to them for solutions.

For big sis, Na person wey get money dey japa ooo, I came back from service and she already had several altercations with them but somehow stucked, so I adviced them to rent an apartment for her and set up a business for her, as her case was worst and complicated, but my advice was not taken, they rather go and spend huge sum of money on their prophets for a problem that requires common sense, they later took my advice few years later and she had no phone then, they got her an apartment outside Lagos and I could not even get my self to ask for her number. But in all they never learn.
