The North had a plan from the out set. Giving the Presidential ticket to North in APC will cause an implosion, they don't want an implosion close to an election, their political stakehold in Nigeria will suffer across all level since primaries have ended and every candidate across all levels who hadn't defected till now sticks to the party where he won the primary. So what is the solution? Give it to Tinubu which would certainly raise religious issues. If Tinubu runs with a Northern Muslim, Southern and Northern Christians will mostly go for a party that has a mix of both religions.
If Tinubu goes for a Northern Christian, its a total rejection by Muslim North.
So what is the way out, North agreed that Atiku is the easy win for them.
How does it play out? Northern goes for Atiku, South East and South South due to 2015 beef with Tinubu will rather than voting Tinubu split their votes for Obi and Atiku. Tinubu wins South West and scratches few areas in the North but lacks a bloc vote from the Southern region, a critical need for a push for Southern president.
Atiku will likely defect to APC if he sees that APC has majority control of the National Assembly. And there is automatic balance of power in the country. That is the game plan

I don't fancy Tinubu as president because I prefer younger persons like Osinbajo or Obi. But I've got to admit, Tinubu is the most powerful individual politician in Nigeria. Nobody comes close. Not even Buhari, Kwakwanso or Atiku.

Unlike 2019, it isn't a sweet ride for Atiku this time around. Obi and Kwakwanso are going to share some of his votes. That being said, it is important that all of us are part of this story. GO AND GET YOUR PVC!

Very true but don't underestimate the power of incumbency at his disposal.

With the candidates on ground for selection who becomes Nigerians president (Atiku, Obi and Tinubu)......!

Obi seem to have a better advantage but he has alot to put in place if not he may find it hard to even come third.

MY ADVICE FOR HIM

1. Selection of a Strong vice who is popular and a technocrat better from a particular region the North (the North will always hold grounds for their fellow northerners no matter how bad it get the will win numbers for their brother).

2. Engage his people the Igbos, make them feel a sense of belonging and have good participation in his campaign to hold his ground (this will help to hold his people and win a good number of votes from the south east and the igbo that reside in other states to vote for him).

3. To the students and youth, have a good campaign vision to build the already failed educational system to win the heart of the youths (they really play a better role for him and win him a lot of numbers at the poll to boast his numbers from all region).

4. Engage the South South and with what ever little opportunities that will come his way they are in between and will vote in any direction that comes to their mind.

5. The South West already will go Tinubu's way but he can just sell him self through his campaigns (a lot are not comfortable with the major political party selection and may just free their minds to vote for him from this region)

You actually undermine the power behind grassroot politics, it's not the same as party "man know man" politics where popularity and money goes, the real Arewa consciousness will be tested on the streets and not in some enclosed space in Eagles square where party delegates are programmed to vote. Tinubu is a master strategist no doubt, but his clout and political cunning can only take him as far as being a king naker...and never a king himself.

I love Atiku but I hate all these myopic comments on Nigeria politics....Tinubu is a man to beat and Atiku and PDP knows that but why all these attacks on Tinubu especially from Peter Obi social media fans.... my candid advice get your PVC and leave social media,go to nook and cranny of Nigeria to campaign for Obi cos social media on Nigeria politics brings nothing,imagine delegates in Presidential primary don't know how to write,meaning most electorates are not letters,what a pity and we keep on coming here open threads just to heat the polity...I pity Nigeria youths.
