Abi na hausa man name you izuchukwu?

I have not seen any SE leader that can rule this country effectively

All of our states are trash, save Anambra that we can boast of Obi

As much as I may like to see the SE there someday, there's a dearth of such needed leaders there

Bros, we’ve now witnessed two seismic events in Nigeria’s political history within the last 7 years: A sitting president losing an election in 2015, and an aspirant (albeit a godfather) completely out-maneuvering a sitting President in his party’s presidential primary.

No one, back in 2006, would have been bold enough to predict such events. In fact, that person would have been laughed to scorn grin

Bro, all Nigerian states are trash, from the biggest to the smallest, our options are just to pick outsiders. I'm supporting Peter Obi, not because he's a saint but because he's the best option to shake the national political system and wrest power from these old corrupt entities.

We cannot continue to recycle the same people within the same system.
If sowore was more popular than Obi, I would camp with him.

Peter is undoubtedly the very best of the rest.

Atiku is a thief that should go and enjoy his stolen wealth in peace.

Tinubu is a thief, not only that he is an active participant of a government that has failed us. Do you think tinubu would do any different from buhari?
Are both of them not one and the same with equal stake in the party and it's entire structure?

Why would we want to continue with these people?

Okoto meow! Oga this format don cast.

There is nothing I did not say about buhari. That he is his own man. That he is not new to the system.

That he is the one to control men like danjuma and the old military cabal. That he cannot work under anyone's influence. That he has proven himself with his 7 million votes won earlier and he was as ready as anyone can be to lead this nation.

That was all RUBBISH in the end.
I'm not calling for it again.
PDP and APC are one and the same.
#NoMore.
How is Peter Obi different from the average Nigerian politicians (whether APC or PDP) who embezzle funds meant to develop the various parts of the country?

What are the key ideas he outlined in his manifesto (if he's released one)?

What are the actual plans he proposes for clamping down on terrorism and battling insecurity?

How does he plan to develop the education sector, which has been plagued with many strike actions of ASUU members for years?

What are his plans for diversifying Nigeria's mono-economy that is powered by petrodollars?

How does he plan to end our decades-long problem of epileptic power supply?

Has he discussed these areas, highlighting specific ways to tackle them?

It's vital that he gives the specifics on how he plans to address these issues, which are germane to achieving Nigeria's growth and development.

Buhari, even though many Nigerians were enamored by his promises in 2015 and 2019, failed to explain the specifics on how he would tackle these problems during his campaigns.

He — and his cronies and supporters — only gave the generic promises (such as "We would build good roads," "We would construct good hospitals," and the likes), which the average Nigerian politicians promise while trying to woo Nigerians.

In 2015 and 2019, I didn't see any specific ideas on how Buhari planned to proffer solutions to Nigeria's serious problems such as overdependence on oil, incessant ASUU strikes, poor power supply, among others.

That was why I didn't vote for him. I think any candidate we support in the coming elections need to explain specifically how they plan to solve these problems.

For the purpose of clarity, I would like to reiterate my points yesterday so that I wouldn't be mischaracterized.

Please if you have the means and the adequate support structure to leave the country, please do so. I myself have that plan in mind and have actively worked towards it. What works against me is that I don't have anyone I know in Canada which is my preferred destination.

And secondly as a worker, you need proof of funds or close to 15 million naira for my class of visa and I had just over 60 percent of that personally. My parents are also not in support of me leaving because in their eyes "we are all comfortable" and they want their grandchildren to be close to them and they don't like me going into another country blind.

In other words no existential pertinent reason or urge to leave immediately. But it's no doubt still at the back of my mind.

HOWEVER, if you don't have any means to do so, please don't rush into it, don't go in blind. Don't go against the wishes of those close to you and depart without being a hundred percent certain of the challenges ahead.

I felt the need to present both sides of this because I thought that everybody who was pushing the japa narrative were making everything out to be a complete bed of roses. Were making those countries to be a place where absolutely nothing can go wrong. And that is simply not true.

This thread is a very influential thread on this forum, it's very plausible that people would be excessively motivated and literally take that "Libyan route" narrative literal and start making a land journey across the Sahara desert in search of Europe. Please don't do that.

So please, I am never against japa. I just don't want anyone taking inspiration from here to set very high expectations of the place and abandon all they might have here in search of what has a chance of failing them or most importantly, deliberately putting themselves in harm's way. Thank you.

I disagree. There are individuals who can rule in the SE. There is no one who have ruled from North or South that is better than what SE have to offer.

Jonathan who ruled Yaradua who ruled, their Bayelsa and Katsina states are not better

The problem is that SE needs to get their politics together. Present yourself as a bloc vote. When ACN was going to negotiate with Buhari they had 5 states solidly in their corner. And they had a leader.

You cannot want to be president and in PDP where you suppose get mouth you didnt have any solid candidate and you quickly dropped for Atiku, Also OUK that was in APC was busy campaigning for Lawan

I can tell you if PDP does not take power soon. SW will finish 8yrs, pass to NE who will do 8yrs, then SS will come ahead of SE in APC calculations with people like Oshiomole Amaechi Akpabio or any young politician ready to jump in

Lol. Okwute, the low budget Sowore has reduced the number of NTA interviews he grants daily before. Reality has set in, his fans are now getting the sign, they’re not campaigning for him again, but now insulting other aspirants. Lmao!!!!!

Tinubu and Atiku will floor Okwute in his local government and nothing will happen. There’s more to Nigerian politics than granting NTA interviews with a voice, sounding like some who swallowed frog at tender age.

Everything about Okwute is a turn off to me.

From his clueless walking step, the way he laughs confusingly, his dress code. Everything is a turn off.

You can ask him to tell you how to deal with insecurity in Nigeria and he’ll start telling you the inflation and economic situation in Afghanistan. Always talking off point with his voice, sounding like Davido’s freestyle.

That guy CANNOT last in Aso Rock for a week.

He’ll be turned to a puppet. Not adventurous, brave, tactical, strategic, authoritative, connected, everything about him makes it look like he’s being forced to contest.

Hate Tinubu, but you can’t rule out the fact that he’s strategic and tactical in executing plans.

Hate Atiku, but you can rule out the fact that he’s got a good fighting spirit and very adventurous in achieving something.

What do both have in common?? Bravery and authority to boss every situation. They are not clueless.

Hate Obi and and you’ll see reason to keep hating Obi!!!

Nothing good to admit about him atall.

Obi is not bad, he is not worse than other politician except for the sanctimonious I have not eaten in 10yrs he keeps saying

I don't know why Obi left PDP but I believed he would have had significant influence if he stayed back. PDP was his best shot. I believe he was advised wrongly or acted with hot head. He was potentially the top 3 men in PDP Southern Nigeria and by the time Wike leaves office, Obi could have been number 1. He is not in power and has this much support. He needs a strong platform to showcase himself

If he didn't win this time, he would be positioned for next time. You stay the course and wait for your time in Politics. You have to be patient.
In 4-8yrs he would still be young
Leaving APGA for PDP for Labor doesn't look good on your political career unless you have "fvkk you" money to give everyone and shut them up

There's someone on Facebook willing to bet N1m that Obi won't win a single State...Yours is even 4 States...

Donj keeps mistaking popularity on social media for acceptability across the length and breathe of Nigeria.

Obi just has the loudest fans who are willing to go hard on those with divergent opinions. When push comes to shove, he'll realize that the majority are not always the loudest...
Obi will conveniently win four states but can he win 4 states outside southeast region? Definitely not.
Labour party is a regional party like SDP, PPM and the likes. APGA has been in existence since 2003 yet it hasn't penetrate southwest not to talk north, APGA has no single elected person outside southeast same thing with LP, out of 1,496 available seats LP occupies 0 seat, we don't know the party here neither the abokis know it too, the unfortunate things is those people over there vote for two things :

The current demographics favor Atiku unless APC govt open the CBN vault to buy everyone out
The VP choices will also be a factor.

Here is my take. Starting with Obi who clearly doesn't have the structure to support a national appeal.
However, with Obi in the race comes a good measure of advantage for Tinubu, as this could be expected to deprive Atiku of a huge chunk of the traditional PDP SouthEast votes.

Tinubu should win SouthWest by a wide margin as the major prevailing sentiment out there won't be favorable to Atiku, and especially with people now fully coming to terms with Tinubu's strong political structure. This is now about Tinubu himself, not him presenting someone to people to support - he is formidable.

Atiku will win the NorthEast.

SouthSouth may go for party affiliation and opt for Atiku but will have another straight battle between Amaechi and Wike.

NorthCentral is a tough call with strong APC presence.

The big masquerade here remains the last of the titans, Muhammadu Buhari. Can he deliver the NorthWest to help Tinubu win?

About the issue of PVC: Yes, I've one.

I'd love to support Peter Obi because he looks brilliant and is an Ibo. But until he explains how he will tackle these problems, I am not his strong supporter.

I watched the video, and he mostly talked about the generic promises the typical Nigerian politicians make when vying for posts.

The main issue is the how. Do you have another video or article explaining how he plans to take Nigeria out of the doldrums?

Then, I feel he should have started his campaign one or two years ago. He doesn't look well prepared in my opinion, doesn't look like a strong contender for the post, unlike Tinubu and Atiku.

If things continue this way, I won't vote again like the past years. I won't contribute to bringing an ailing politician to become Nigeria's president.

Tinubu's ill health is a recipe for disaster if he wins the major elections billed for next year.

Unless something unusual or unexpected happens in the APC or concerning Tinubu's health, I think he will win at polls next year.

Atiku isn't a match for Tinubu.

Personally think Igbo Culture is at the root of this. Igbo culture seems to be underpinned by this highly individualistic mindset. They historically never had kings, or empires, and its truly every man for himself, where only the strong survive. I think that Igboland is the closest thing we have to a naturally occurring ultra-right wing, ultra capitalist society in Nigeria

It's probably why as a people they have dominated economically, whilst making disastrous political decisions.
