When this first came out, I remember deriding it as a witch hunt because I wanted APC to survive and win the PDP. But the most important thing in this article is the diagnosis of Parkinson which we're only really seeing now. He has been undergoing Parkinson treatment in London. But most pertinent of these is the fact that this man doesn't go to America because he still has outstanding legal problems. The truth which we chose to be blinded to because of emotions has now surfaced itself to be true. I vehemently opposed this article when it was a hot topic years ago. 7 Likes

donjazet: This is not the best way to sell your Candidate keep doing your selfless service for PO and Nigeria at large, and let them do theirs. Why are you bothered with his Posts? He has right as you to support as he wishes. Attacking him won't stop him, rather energise him more. Keep doing your good job, who knows, ibime, nihilistjnr, Raumdeuter, afrodoc2, airmark, popizaino and Co may eventually decide to return home, get their PVCs and proudly queue under the Sun or in the rain, to cast their votes for PO. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

diggz:I don't know when or where I told you that religion isn't a major part of Nigeria's problems. That must be your own assumption. My stance on these issues is clear and won't change with time. The white-man's religion, Christianity, and the Arab's religion, Islam, have always been among the major issues why this country can't achieve greatness. I don't know how you expect a people with deeply ingrained self-hate and inferiority complex to grow and develop. As I said sometime this year or late last year, Nigeria won't develop until anything called holy book or holy places of worship (especially those of Abrahamic religions) lose their value. When that happens, it means Nigeria has many philosophers and thinkers that are highly intelligent. No nation develops when most of the citizens are mentally enslaved to their European slave masters and Arab conquerors. They won't study the history of their country, of their religion, and of their god but are merely following their religion blindly. It's funny seeing the average Nigerian religionist talking about the prophets of Christianity and those of Islam with reverence. And the same people regularly demonize their own great people (such as Ifa/Afa, Ogun, Amadioha, and the likes) in this part of the world, and you expect such people — who aren't even intelligent enough to respect and value your their own culture and appreciate their great ancestors of the past — to develop. It doesn't make sense. Some of the hallmarks of a well-developed or civilized society are, the citizens are enlightened enough to codify their own (not imposed) spiritual practices in a written (indigenous) language and develop their own system of education (not the imposed Western style of education). Any society (e.g. Nigeria) that can't achieve these great feats will be enslaved to those more intelligent than they (e.g Europeans and Arabs) and those ones will impose their systems of language, education, and religion on them. When that's done, then the slaves will hate their ancestors, destroy their rich traditional objects with their own hands calling them demonic objects, while treating the traditional objects of their slave masters as holy, superior. How is the Muslims' tasbih or the Christians' rosary superior or better than those the local ones the traditionalists wear made of cowries? The underlying meaning of this kind of behavior in society is that the majority of Nigerians despise their roots and see themselves as inferior to their slave masters, who have caged their thinking, the way a young man controls a herd of cattles even when not in chains because he has caged them mentally. That's the current state most Nigerians are in, and no sustainable development can occur in this sorry state. Humans can be caged or enslaved physically via invasions and wars and mentally through religion. Better I stop here; I don't have the energy for lengthy religious discussion this night. diggz:I hardly discuss political issues and am almost apolitical. I don't have plans to take part in politics whether now or in the future. By encouraging people to use reason, adopt the scientific method, philosophy (and not religion), and value the local cultures (the good aspects in them), I contribute my little quotas to society. I don't have to vote to make a difference when there are no good candidates. And then, the truth is, unless restructuring or break up is done, Nigeria can never be great. Nigeria is a hopeless country. Things will only get worse with this crop of greedy politicians in the political parties. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Oasis007: He has to feel gutted and alone right now. He served Buhari for 8 years but that was not enough to even get Buhari's support when it mattered most. Baba even threw his support behind Lawan and was careful not to make any utterance that remotely showed support for PYO. Worse still, he went head on against his benefactor and while he was respectful about it, it left a sour taste in the mouth of many, especially the SW politicians. I don't know what his political future is but it doesn't look good at this time. 5 Likes |
