We that were born in the early 70s enjoyed naija small. So many young people nowadays have not seen this country good in their lifetime and so do not understand.
I was going through my documents the other day and found my passport as a kid. Look at the bta and how much naira exchanged to the pounds sterling, charges included.
Those were the days of British calidonia, Nigeria airways. Country was good. Nigeria passport was visa free to almost all countries of the world. Every holiday, nigerians enter "London" as we called it then.
Poor man's food was sardine and bread with chilled coke.

In the 80s and 90s, the average tuition in our universities was about 150naira and parents complained bitterly of the expensiveness and they want reduction, today the average fee paid in federal universities is around 100,000 naira and people are still paying it!

I remember when my dad was building our apartment in 2002, we bought cement for 1600, despite the fact that he was not earning enough, he still saved the money that enable him to build an apartment for himself.

Things have change in our own tenure, all we have left is increasing of price every single day,........ you will buy something today, the next day when you get to market, the price is rise

For your do build a 3bedroom apartment now, you will need up to 50bags of cement 50x4200 is almost 210,000 thousand naira

if you ever ask me if Nigeria will go back to those days of cement of 80naira

My Answer is HELL NO, Probably in my dream, even this days people don't dream about Nigeria going back to those days, they dream about the next days

It is not through. My father is 74 years old and usually tells us that we are really suffering these days. That things were far better in the 80's and 90's. There was a time he was working for 3 different companies in a day namely Dunlop, Guinness and Eleganza. A secondary school graduate was a hot cake then and things were really affordable so says my father. Master degree holders are roaming round the streets of the country in search of white collar job.

Lol...I was explaining to someone I gave a lift the other day, how 5naira paper could afford Ice cream, snacks anď you will still have balance in coins to flex biscuit..

Transport to school in my primary one was 10naira..

My school fees in primary 6 was 800naira..

God have mercy for this country..

That same school, their school fees alone is more 60k now..by the time you add everything e go reach 90k...

Anyway na where my children will go...To learn from where their papa learnt from.
