The truth is that your contacts “safely stored in your mobile phone” which you used in downloading the loan app and securing the lending from the app platform, is actually “your collateral and guarantee for loan repayment.” If you want to apply for a loan and you do not have any contact in your phone, I can assure you that no lending app in Nigeria will approve your request.

You cannot stop loan apps from accessing your phone contacts, after you have borrowed money from them. Your phone contacts will immediately be downloaded safely on the loan app’s external database against your name, BVN and other profile details and even though you later delete or uninstall the loan app, it makes no difference. You stand in their mercy.

If you are a software developer, you will understand how android apps permission works. Also, most of us don't read privacy policy & Terms of use before installing apps.

If you are a defaulter just know that, they have MULTIPLE ways of getting their money back. Calling/SMSing your guarantors & contacts is the least they can do.
They can write to your bank to blacklist your BVN. They can also auto-debit or even request freeze on your accounts.
I'm sorry, the world has no pity for debtors.

They won't stop. They're enjoying the high interest rate on 2weeks returns. Who gives someone 40k to pay back 48k in 2weeks? They even violate Google laws and lie in their reviews.

Re: If You're Owing A Loan App... What To Do. by Dashlys: 4:01pm On Jun 12, 2022
Lies! They cannot write to your bank. They probably safely stored your information on filling detail and not contacts or photos...they can only access your phone for those if permissions were not denied. I have also heard from a lot of people that their contacts could not be accessed. That being said, you can't successfully auto-debit accounts if the initial information granted were changed. Like the ATM pin. Get out of here! Freeze which account? An illegal organization having the ability to get banks freeze an account....you think you're talking to an illiterate like yourself? On what grounds? cheesy

Lots of people are dying in silence. And they find it so hard to tell others that they are caught in the traps of the loan sharks. Only a few have disclosed this to me while I see many battling enchainment in silence. Something hooge has to be done to stop these loan sharks. Good to know the govt is taking some steps, but I don't trust the politicians as they could be the ones funding the people behind the loan apps, so they can propagate poverty and make people live at their mercy.

If any protest is staged against loan apps, I would be the first to get to the protest ground. I see the loan sharks playing a squid game with the desperate. Only a lawless country could allow loans with such interests! They say the interests are too high because many don't pay, so it could cover for the bad debts. Then, they need not to cry over the unpaid ones. It's like loan sharks & their staff are running mad undecided

I nearly had bp last year because of this people, they called all my contacts, who have decided to help me with a new job, because I lost my job then that I was a criminal, sent and broadcasted my images. 6months after I couldn't still pay, the loan interest was growing. Till I was no longer interested to pay. I was already growing white hair due to tension. Fortunately. I don't know how two among them stopped calling. I was left with two who have refused to let me rest. All my friends stopped picking my calls. None was ready to help as country hard. One of them earning monthly in millions wanted to help because they call him every morning. He keeps promising but eventually forgets after calling again, what I hear is that I was disturbing him and he has too many responsibilities. Honestly, I got tired of everything, started having bad dreams. Till I came out of the debt.

How did you come out of the debts? Did you pay them?

Bro, on my birthday in March, I paid loans. I couldn't take myself out. I died for 5 months then went on Twitter and began reading. I couldn't buy my basic stuffs 'cause I had one loan expiring in a week or two to pay. I woke up after gathering enough knowledge on them...nairalanders helped too with their input. Now, I block all their calls and sleep well. They can't even shame me.

If they're not getting their money from Nigerians, they'll be forced to close their apps. The b*stards have calculated 200k from me, but 1k they won't see.

After denying them permission, don't remove your sim. If they call to threaten you, threaten them with the laws they're breaking. Block spamming calls and enjoy your freedom. All calls from them would be rejected and they can't tarnish your image. B*stards!

How do I block spamming calls?

I will be helping as many ppl get out of Loans.

If you're owing them(the illegal unregistered) apps, do this.

Go to your phones setting.
Click on Apps & notifications
Click on Apps info
Click on the loan app
Click on permissions
Deny them all permissions you granted like camera, contacts, messages, ETC

Then uninstall the app. Do this before the loan is due. They won't have access to your contacts or photos but would be able to only call the guarantors you added when submitting information.

Mind you... they're not licensed. For that, they're criminals and can't do anything. Legally, they should be imprisoned including the dumb agents. Have fun! cheesy

As for your ATM card information. Go to your bank and request for a new ATM. This will make the old one BLOCKED and they won't be able to Autodebit your account...N1,000 then use a different pin that you never used on the internet. Also, change the phone number linked to your BVN...you will be protecting your data.

They must have gained access to your database even before granting you the loan in the first place...

They are only out there to rip off people. No thanks to Covid-19 because the lockdown made many their victims. Many have been servicing the loans with their income/wages/salaries since then & keep wondering where they have gone wrong. And some foolish youths who work for them keep defending them because of the money they make. No worry, they think they are safe now, but I bet it would surely get to them when the loan shark's tragedy covers everywhere. I pray they are curbed early though.

I told one of agents that I will track his number and mess him up. They've really messed up people. Some of them are here posting rubbish in defense. People that should be in jail if government was serious. They don't even know the risk they expose themselves to by working with these illegal companies then call people to threaten them on laws they're not educated enough to express to others.

You're a bigger thief! Operating a loan app illegally makes them criminals.

Requesting for a new card and CHANGING PIN invalidates the old card. A bank would always give you card on request, just have your 1k for that.

Those of you helping these Chinese ppl to rip off Nigerians are actual idiots!

Whether I was forced or not isn't a legal ground to threaten me. As far as they operate illegally, I can owe them and not pay. We are all thieves. If not, they would be registered.

I understand that your 30k job is at risk, but I will use this account to make Nigerians default thereby making idiots like you jobless.
